Just a random vent about people getting way, way too close to DD when I have her out in her stroller or car seat. I have taken DD to Target a few times and everything was fine until we got to the register. DD was in her car seat, in the big part of the shopping cart and the cashier literally came out from her register and walked up to the cart and started skaing DD's toys at her and getting in her face and touching her! Uhmm hello?! Are you kidding me??
Then just last week a neighbor two houses away, we have never met, had a garage sale and DH, DD and I walked over with DD in her stroller so DH could look at this car engine part or whatever it was. DD and I stood there, honestly just looking at the street and the next thing I know this creepy old man literally had his head in her stroller saying how cute she was, blowing cigarette smoke in her face and touching her hands and feet.
I'm a first time mom so this is new to me as I would NEVER, EVER touch someone else's baby that I have never met in my life. DH said this is normal behavior of people. I think he, and the creepy people are nuts! Am I crazy?! This is just so odd to me!!
Re: Vent re: random people getting in DD's face
You aren't nuts, it is completely inappropriate. But it happens a lot. I find that our biggest issue is with young children who want to "see the babies" and come up and stick their heads in the babies' faces, and parents let them!
I actually bought two bug net things that I put over their strollers when we go to places with lots of people. They can still see out but people can't touch them.
