Nursery Help!

I'm having a really hard time with the nursery!  Anyone want to weigh in??

We spent a ton of time this weekend looking at fabrics and paint colors but I'm just not falling in love with anything.  I've made 4 different options below, please let me know what you think.  All along I had planned on needing curtains, a crib skirt, and a pillow for the glider but last night it dawned on me that a crib skit really won't be seen through our crib!  So now I'm even more confused!!

I need a lot of curtains b/c of the bay window so I don't want to use a fabric that is too busy or overpowering.

For all the pictures the top row is the windows, the rug we already bought, and the crib.  The glider is going to be grey.  The middle row are the fabrics and the bottom is the most likely paint choice.

Option 1 - Purple, yellow, gray

This one I had planned on doing the floral fabric with all three colors for the crib skirt and then picking one of the purple fabrics for the curtains but now I don't really know what to do!

Option 2 - Blue, Pink, and Green

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the paisley fabric but figure it's too much for curtains so I don't even know where I'd use it!  There are two different paint colors on this one although they are very similar

Option 3 - Blue and Red

With this one I'm not sure what color we would paint the walls.  I guess the light blue color in the floral fabric.

Option 4 - Lots of colors!

Re: Nursery Help!

  • I like option #3 and think that either light blue or cream walls woudl work the best. As for your crib skirt debate, crib skirts = a good way to hide stuff you want to store under the crib. even if you only see a few inches of the skirt, it's far better than being able to see any boxes or such you want to tuck under the crib.

  • I like option 2 the best, with the striped fabric for the curtains to elogate the windows.  Use the paisley and dots for pillows and crib skirts/sheets.
  • I really like the purple and yellow, but the blue pink and green go much better with the rug. (It looks blue, but it may be different because of lighting). So either #1 or #2. :)

  • from the pictures I like #3 the best tho not sure about the red fabric, only if it is used sparingly. I like #2 also, esp the paisley fabric, I just can't tell from the pics how well it goes with the rug...GL!!!!
  • I love option #2! You could you use the paisley fabric for a crib skirt, or a valance (and do solid coloured curtains instead of printed ones). All of the options look great, you will have a fab nursery no matter which one you choose. I love the bay window. Good luck!

  • I love #2 and I don't think the paisley is too much for curtains.  Gorgeous!

  • I like option 2 the best!
  • I LOVE Option 3.  The pattern on the left goes best with the rug that you have.  With the bold colors in the fabric, you really don't need to paint the walls.  However, if you really want to...I'd keep it very light!

    A close 2nd...Option 2.

  • Thank you for all your opinions girls, I really appreciate it!!  I don't think the rug shows up right in the picture, it is grey and white.  Several people at work have seen the picture on my computer and thought it was blue.  It's really more a medium to light gray.

  • I vote either option #1 or #3.  I love purple, so I initally went for that.  But, there's something about that blue/red combo that I love too.

  • I like #3.  I would paint the walls a very pale grey.
