how did your DD handle the trip? Seemed like there were a few opportunities for a 2 y.o. meltdown, or I guess I should rephrase it to say, it seems like there were a few times my 2 y.o. would have had a meltdown LOL
the pix on FB were great, looks like a great tiime!
Re: ch ch chia re: your PR trip review
The first day and a half were a little touch & go... but, that was partially due to our parental idiocy, and partially due to the fact that she was getting over a stomach bug (she actually had to be picked up at daycare early on Thursday, and puked her last time on Friday afternoon - we left Saturday morning...)
Example of parental idiocy? It was like we forgot we were traveling with a 2.5 y/o. For example, we went to Old San Juan without a stroller. Well, duh. Of course a 2 y/o is going to be cranky after walking a mile in 90 degree heat and humidity!
Once we got the hang of planning around her naptime (either planning a long car ride around 2 or 3PM, or going back to the hotel for a couple of hours), and making sure she was eating (even if it meant stopping for McD's chicken nuggets and milk...) things were great.
It was also better once we realized that she slept better during the night in a king sized bed with us, versus in a separate bed or PnP. She slept more, and was better rested. In our first sleeping arrangement, she woke up scared in the middle of the night.
All in all, she was a good kid 90% of the time!
that's great, gives me hope!
