nbr: One Word

We're halfway through 2011 and I am reflecting back on my initial goals for the year. Six more months to make things happen, make small changes, etc.

I came across a "one word" challenge in January but had a hard time coming up with one word for myself. If you had to choose one word to inspire, challenge, motivate yourself what would it be? One word that can help you reach your goals in the next six months.

Change, prioritize, health, reflect, remember, cherish...what would your one word be?

  • Strength

The rest of this year is full of touring, my BABY starting kindergarten, staying committed to my  workouts. I am going to need all the strength I can get!

Gayley was DH's Godmother who recently passed.  Her services were Friday and a common theme in everyone's speeches was how she lived for the moment, family was paramount, and really making investments in the day to day relationships, great and small, she had.  Even if you were to have met her on the street by simply bumping shoulders, she would have touched your life positively with a smile and a compliment about your adorable shoes, marvalous hairstyle, or stunning earrings.  You never left her feeling less than, but always filled up with her light, her life.  She gave selflessly, lived with abandon, and cherished every moment.  Not too bad of a goal to have, being more like her, emulating her, honoring her.  That's my one word, in not so much one word.  ;)

  • Self

My goal was to take more time for me and this one word reminds me of that goal. I feel like I am doing fairly good with keeping myself a priority but some days are tougher than others.

  • GROW.

To grow in my career with my new job, to grow my family and hopefully TTC, and to grow in the purchase of a home.  Also to grow as a mom and learn more patience and how to keep ME happy

Your ladies are inspiring with your words! Perfect for a Tuesday back to work =)

  • Swimming

Corny, but I think of that finding nemo quote "just keep swimming just keep swimming" lol . Lots of changes PTing M, M starting school, new job, new schedule, N growing and moving, and trying to better myself as a nurse, woman, friend, wife , and mom so I just have to keep "swimming"

  • Organize.

I want to be more organized in all aspects of my life.

  • Do I have to pick only one???  I am torn between JOY and HOPE.  Hope has always been "my word."  But, my phrase lately is "joy is always possible" so the word "joy" has been on my brain a lot.  It is amazing how trying to find the "joy" in any situation totally re-frames your life.  Talk about changing your mindset when you attempt to focus on finding joy in all situations and areas of your life!

My one goal at the start and still now (even more so in some ways) is to remain positive in my thought process, and hope for the best in hard times.
