Babies: 3 - 6 Months

4 month wakeful discovery

So I thought I had been cursed with a month and a half long plus 4 month wakeful. DD was waking up 4 times a night, wouldn't take a pacifier, and I ended up side-lie nursing her back to sleep.  CIO isn't an option for me and other types of sleep training are too hard (when you're tired and know it's easy to just nurse back to sleep). Honestly if DD needs to wake 4 times a night so be it.

Two nights ago rather than sidelying I sat up to nurse her and she only woke once. Same results last night. Hmm... 3rd times a charm. Wish me luck tonight.

  • I do not envy you.  We must have missed this whole 4 mw, but from what I hear it's dreadful.  I hope tonight you can get some rest ;-)

  • To be honest I have noticed that my son is waking up more lately but I thought it was because he was busy rolling all over the place and bumping his head on the sides of the crib.  Every time he ends up on his stomach he wakes up.  I know that he can make it from 7pm-4am without milk so I just keep giving him his pacifier if he wakes up.  Lately along with his pacifier I have to move him around in his crib.  I don't think he is technically awake even though I am.  I am usually out of the bed every few mins for 10-15 mins before he is back to sleep until 4 or 5am for his feeding.  He just turned 5 months so maybe that is what is going on the 4 month wakeful time.
