registering questions

Hi Ladies.

I am in the midst of registering. Just wondering how many car seats did you register for? I registered for the infant car seat and stroller combo and then another convertabile car seat once the baby is over 35 inches long. Should I do another car seat? Also I registered for the snap go stroller along with the regular stroller. Any help would be great thanks!

Re: registering questions

  • I registered for 1 infant car seat, with 2 bases (one for my car, one for DH's), and have not yet registered for a convertible car seat, but should probably get that on there.

For strollers, we got the snap and go for the infant seat, a maclaren to have a lighter easy fold take anywhere stroller, and a jogging stroller as well.

Not sure where all of this stuff will be kept though!  :-)

  • I had gotten a travel system on my own and registered for an extra base and a convertible car seat. Even if I had not gotten the travel system I would have registered for both. The way I see it is eventually I will have to buy 2 convertible car seats. So I may as well take the risk that somebody will buy one!

  • I registered for a travel system and an extra base for my mom's car since she will be the babysitter when I go back to work.  I also registered for one convertable car seat.  I thought it was alot of money to register for two and am hoping we can work out some kind of plan with just using one.  I figured later down the road I'll buy a booster seat on my own.

  • We registered for the Snugride 35 infant car seat with two bases, one for each car, as well as a Britax convertible for when the baby outgrows the snugride.  I know that technically we don't need the snugride at all since the Britax can be used from 5lbs up, but it can't attach to the City Mini like an infant carseat can (none of the convertibles can be snapped into a stroller or snap n go, as far as I know).  That was a perk for me, so it's worth having a different carseat for the infant months.  If you get a Graco travel system, which we really liked but ultimately decided against, the infant carseat IS the snugride.
  • We registered for the Chicco Keyfit 30 Infant seat and an extra base, as well as the Britax Marathon Convertible car seat.  I really wanted the infant car seat since it can lock into our stroller for those early months, even though the Britax can be used right from then start.  No need to wake that sleeping infant when taking them out of the car, if you ask me!

  • We registered for the Chicco Cortina Travel System with extra base, the Snap n Go stroller for the infant car seat, an umbrella stroller for when LO is about a year old and a jogging stroller for when DH and I walk the rough trails around our house. We also registered for a convertible car seat for when LO no longer fits in the infant car seat.

Most car seats come with a base... so you would just need to register for ONE additional base for a second car.

I just registered for one infant car seat and one extra base.

  • Thanks ladies.

I ended up registering for a graco infant car seat with two extra bases. I also did a snap and go. The convertible car seat i reigstered for was the britax brand. I have done some research and I think that is very reputable brand. I registered for two convertible car seats. The stroller I did was the city mini jogger. Very light and easy to carry

And just as an FYI depending on the model car seat and your car, you don't always even need the base so if it's a case of YH is going to drive the baby every once in awhile but mostly your car (or the other way around in my case) is the family car you can get away with just having one base.
