Baby Showers

Baby shower Scrapbooking table.

I have seen that some of you mention that you have been to a shower where you made a scrapbook page for the baby.  I will be throwing a baby shower for my SIL and she is huge into stamping and think this might be right up her alley.  How did they go about doing this? Did it take a lot of time? Done before or after the other activites? Did everyone get into it? Were the pages big or small pages? I don't want it to take up to much time that people won't want to do it. Please give me any details that you can. Thanks!! :)

Re: Baby shower Scrapbooking table.

  • At a friend's shower that I co-hosted, we did two things: a few of us who were planning it together pre-made our scrapbook pages and brought them all finished to the shower so that other guests had some ideas to work with.  Then, we set up a table with all the necessary supplies and each table had a little note asking them to visit the scrapbook table at their convenience if they wanted to make a page for the guest of honor.  People went over in small groups whenever they felt like it so it didn't seem like an organized activity that everyone had to participate in.

One piece of advice though- if you want your pages to contain pictures, give the guests a heads up to bring some pictures to the party.  If they are only decorating pages that you will add pictures to later, make that clear at the scrapbook table.  You could also ask them to write things to the M2B or LO such as well wishes, advice, stories from their childhood, etc... and decorate those as scrapbook pages instead of needing pictures.

Oh, and... you can totally go overboard with supplies for this one, so budget accordingly! Scrapbook stuff isn't cheap.

  • I'm really not concerned with the price since I have a TON of supplies that sit in our basement unused so we are good to go there. Thanks for the hints.

This is me.  I used to scrapbook and so had a ton of supplies (die cuts, stamps, etc.)  For a shower I hosted I set it up as a beginning activity for guests who arrived early.  That way while waiting for the food to be served and the rest of the guests to arrive they had something to do.  Upon arriving I had them take a polaroid with the MTB, which they glued onto their scrapbook page.  The instructions dictated for them to write a memory of them with MTB and/or write a letter to the baby and decorate their page.  I also had FTB write a letter to MTB and baby, which I glued onto the first page in the scrapbook.  Upon presenting it I read the letter outloud.  It was quite a hit and tearjerker!

  • This is just an idea..but I did this for my wedding and it was awesome!!!! Everyone enjoyed doing this while waiting on their food...I kept markers in a big bowl and as ppl walked in they took a page and some markers to make a scrapbook page. Its less stuff you have to buy and the book is BEAUTIFUL! WORTH THE MONEY!

It was fun looking at everyones pages after the wedding. We got married last July..and on the wedding pages it asks when you think the couple will have a child..only 1 person guessed Oct 2011...so neat to see what they want us to name our kids too! Im sure the baby shower pages are just as fun/cute!

We looked at these too, but we ended up finding a similar free template on weddingbee.  I thought it was a great idea also.
