Getting ready to move LO to crib...currently in bassinet in our room..

Any advice or suggestions?? I would like to start putting my LO in her crib during her naps during the day then after a few days gradually move her in there for night. What have you all been doing?

She is just getting too big for the bassinet already!

  • Definitely start with naps. LO has to get use to her bed first. Swaddle her so she feels secure and I place my LO close to the edge so the bed doesn't seem so large. Most nights I have to make sure she is asleep before I can put her in her crib, but you are suppose to place her in there when her eyes get heavy. Some nights this works, but most it doesn't.

It may not be perfect the first night, but it gets better with time. Good luck. I cried the first night LO went to her crib.

  • With DS we just put him in there one night and that was that. He was fine and never had any trouble. We're planning to do the same with DS tonight.  We'll see how it goes!

  • Good luck!  We put DS in his own room for the first time last night, and it went pretty well.  He slept about as well as he does in our room, and I had no trouble hearing him when he needed me (that was my biggest concern).

this!  DD was sleeping next to me in bed every night unswaddled (swaddled in a swing for some naps) and one night last week I just swaddled her up, put her in the crib and that was that!  She did great and now she does a 6.5 hour stretch in the night!

If you already have LO in a bassinet, it should be a cinch.  It will be harder for you than for LO.

this is my problem, exactly! she's 8 weeks,  3 days, so she should be transitioned in, but i love having her in the pnp in my room. i just can't do it yet. :-(
