DH and I took the kids next door to swim in their pool today. The neighbors watched Nate so I could swim with DH and Scott. All in all it was a lot of fun! But there was a moment where DH was doing some "tricks" off of a float which Scott thought was really funny. Scott was watching DH while standing on a ledge near the stairs (still in the pool). I was at the other end of the pool.
Apparently while DH was starting one of his "tricks" that involves him going under water, Scott decided he wanted a float that was just out of reach. He fell off the edge of the ledge and went under. I got over to him within seconds and he was fine and DH was there as soon as he came up from his "trick" and saw what was happening.
Just a reminder to not take your eyes off LO even for a second in a pool. There were two of us there! It ended up not being a big deal but could have been bad. It really scared me. Also scary because Scott was not flailing or doing anything that would have brought attention to him. He just went under. He was trying to swim, but there weren't any big splashing noises or anything.
Just my public service announcement for today. ![]()
