how do you deal with stinky, i mean STINKY toddler feet?? DS gets a bath almost every night and man oh man.....they smell like something I have never smelled before daily....
no socks seems to make it worse...he wears sandals most of the time in the summer...not open toed but have the holes along the side and are very breathable (or so I thought) they are from stride rite..no idea how to do a clicky!!!

Dear doggylovr,
Are they more rubber or more cloth? I've always found that my feet get some STANK when I wear rubber flippies (reef, teva, etc.). Might just be his chemical makeup. It didn't really matter how clean the shoes were (soap, bleach, vinegar, etc.), they got pretty bad.
DS has the same problem when he wears his Keen Newport-style sandals (probably similar to your DS's). No amount of washing in the washing machine, soaking in Oxyclean, scrubbing with vinegar/baking soda, etc. gets the stink out for good. Within one or two wearings, it's back with a vengeance. DD's can get bad, too, so as much as I love the style of sandals, I probably won't buy them next summer. When DS wears his crocs, his feet don't smell at all...so I'll go with those for both kids and try to find cuter styles than the standard "croc look." So I think you may need to change shoes entirely if you want to never have to deal with smelly sandals.
Keens do it to my LO's feet also. With the exception of the stinky feet, I love them so we just wear them when we need to and other times she is barefoot or in socks and shoes (to wick the moisture away from her feet.)
DH has tried foot powder (odor eater stuff) in DD's Keen's, and it worked ok. Washing her feet every night is the best we can do, since I"m keeping the sandals (I like that the toe is closed in for when she's running around and trips).
My DS Stride Rite sandals stink to high heavan. We've washed the removable insole, but the smell comes back in 1 wearing. I never thought I would say this, but his Crocs are awesome. No smell, and his feet aren't nearly as sweaty.
Re: stinky feet
does he wear socks? I'd recommend having his feet as cool and dry and aired out as possible, i.e. opened-toed sandals with no socks
