Manassas Pediatrics recs

Ok, I'm two months away and I'm looking through the list of pediatrics that will take my insurance. If anyone is familiar with any of these places please let me know what you think of the office as a whole or individual doctors!!

Manassas Pediatrics

Crestwood Pediatric

Olde Towne Pediatrics

Pediatric Care of Northern VA

Pediatric Associates of PWC

Pine Grove Pediatrics

Child Health Care Center of Northern VA

I'm interested in possibly doing an alternative vaccination schedule so someone willing to work with us on that would be helpful too.

TIA!!

Re: Manassas Pediatrics recs

  • I just did a prenatal appointment at Crestwood Pediatrics - but at they Haymarket office. They are cool with delayed vaccination schedule, but she said if you don't want to vaccinate at all, they are not the practice for us. We do want to vaccinate, just spread out. We met with .....I forget her last name and I'm too lazy to look it up, but her first name is Alethea, and she was really nice. She did say something about iron supplements starting around 4 months, which I do not intend to do and I think she has outdated information, but I figure I can address that when it comes time. The office was nice and from what little I know as a not-yet parent, seemed like a good practice, so we are going with them. Hope that helps a little....

  • We go to crestwood also and see the same dr, though she is actually moving in August:( We have seen other drs there and like them all.  we did a regular vaccine schedule so I am no help there, everyone has been very nice and you never have to wait long.  We typically go to the haymarket office now that it is open but we used to go to the manassas one before the new one opened. I have also heard good things about old town peds but dont know from experience.

Seriously, she's moving?! That would have been nice of her to tell us when we met with her. Bummer...... but good to know you like the other doctors. Oh well!

  • She just found out about moving last week... She only started telling patients on Wednesday and ds had his well check on Thursday..... She was our favorite but we like the others also;)
  • Thanks! I had liked Crestwood just from looking at their website but had read some not so positive things about them in the internet. In particular a few unfavorable things about Dr. Abbott being "dry and unpersonable" and other things like that. But you never know what to believe off the internet either :P
  • I don't know where you are delivering but Dr Abbott does rounds at fair oaks where I had ds....i can see how she Matt be considered a bit dry but she knows her stuff... She has 6 kids herself in a huge age range. They let you have a prenatal appt with them... Good luck
  • According to their website they all do rounds at Prince William Hospital but Dr. Abbott also does rounds at Fair Oaks.

And I definitely plan to do prenatal appointments with a couple of places just trying to narrow down the field a little first!! :)

     Thanks!!

  • yeah they all round at PW but only dr abbott at fair oaks, and thats where I was.  it was such a hard decision....good luck narrowing down
  • we go to crestwood and have nothing but positive things to say.  their nurse line is great.  they don't force you to make an appointment if you call the nurse line, they will talk to you and most of the time leave the appointment decision up to you.

i have liked all the drs and have never found any to be impersonal.

  • We go to Manassas Pediatrics, at the rec of several neighbors.  We've only seen them three times (in the hospital, post birth check up, 2 week check up), but loved all the doctors and nurses, and love that they're open Saturdays for appointments.  Everyone was very good about offering advice but saying "but you do what's best for you" and I didn't feel judged or pressured, which is so nice.

Not sure about alternate vaccination schedules since I didn't ask, but I'm sure they'd tell you over the phone.

  • Fantastic!! Keep the info coming - I really appreciate it :)
  • We use Pediatic Care and they are great. They have always been able to get us in quickly for sick and well appointments. The entire staff is very friendly. We see Dr Johnson and she is wonderful! I feel like she really lets me be apart of their care and answers any and all questions thoroughly. I've never felt rushed during appointments.
