Reaching weight limit on bassinet (PnP)... EEK!!!!

It's just soooo much easier to have her in our room, in the PnP bassinet. BUT, she weighs 14 lbs - weight limit is 15 lbs. I wonder what would happen if she was 15 lbs and still in it.. is 15 lbs a recommendation, or a VERY SERIOUS don't-do-it weight?

Her nursery is right next door to DS's room/bathroom and across the house, and the girl still gets up sometimes 3x a night. OY!

  • We had to take hers out last week.

I wouldn't push it, since it's suspended over the PNP. I worry about it collapsing if you violate the weight limit. It's not a rec., as far as I could tell.

  • If you are not ready to transition her to her room can't you just have her sleep in the pack n play w/ the mattress lowered? We have two pack n plays, but the one in our bedroom does not have a bassinet. DD sleeps well in it every night.

  • Yep, I just posted this question last week. :( DS is 14 1/2 lbs so he's out this week. He sleeps right next to my bed in it. I don't think I can even reach him on the bottom! Someone said they put a fluffy blanket under the mattress on the bottom, but I still don't get how it's comfy. You can feel the bars/legs through the mattress so I don't see how it's safe to sleep like that. I think I figured out a way to bring the crib into our room though even though it involves moving our bed. DS was sleeping through the night, but the past three nights has been up every 2-3 hours. Sad It's been awful. I am not ready to start trekking to the nursery 1/2 asleep. Plus with his reflux I have to hold him upright at least 20 minutes and it's much more comfortable in bed. Each time he wakes up it's at least for an hour.
