fever came back? what's going on?!

I hate this!!

ds had a fever thurs night. Took him to urgent care friday night when a friend mentioned a pimple looking thing on his face could be MRSA. The doc never said what it was but gave a strong antibiotic. (bactrim).

His had no fever yesterday but wasnt eating much, slept all day and didnt wet a lot of diapers. (4 total). I just thought the antibiotic was making him not hungry and sleepy.

This morning his temp is back to 102 again.

what gives?  This cant be teething right? I'm getting kind of worried about him now...

    I don't know if teething can cause a fever that high. My pedi always was talking about a low grade fever. My pedi also always says anytime a fever gets above 101 to bring her in. Do you have an after hours number to call your pediatrician or a nurse line through them. If so I would call them and see what they suggest you do. I wouldn't let him run that high of a fever for long without getting him checked out again. Hope he gets to feeling better.

    My nephew was prescribed antibiotics for a really bad pimple he had. He was about 3 yo. I remember thinking did my skin ever clear when I was younger and on antibiotics. But the temp is odd. I'd call too.

    Do you have a nurse line? I would definately call or go to urgent care again. That's pretty high for a little one.

    Also, the regular stuff, tempid bath, lots of fluid. Even asking if you can add in a little water or pedilyte in to his diet with the fever.

    Poor little dude I hope he gets better soon.

    Poor guy! We just dealt with 4 days of fevers with the highest being 104.2. It was scary. I called when it was over 102 just to see what the pedi said. They basically said to just give the Tylenol every 4 hours and dress her so she was cool. Call back if Tylenol wasn't bringing the temp down.

     102 is too high to be from teething, IMO.
