Toddlers: 24 Months+

Would you be honest? *clicky*

The baseball game requires tickets for all children ages 2 and older.  DS1 is almost 3.  MH thinks we should fib and say he's under 2, I want to be honest b/c I'm a nerd like that I guess.  WWYD?[Poll]

  • I would fib normally but at that price I'd buy LO a seat just for the space, you will want it!!! We recently went to Fenway and I fibbed but we were getting Green Minster seats which are $$$ and I knew they were more spacious. But at fairs, zoo etc I plan to lie ;)

  • I might fib if it was closer to his age, but you're talking about almost a year.  Maybe if he had turned  2 a couple weeks ago.

     I agree with this.

  • With a year difference, I would't lie, unless your DS could really pass for one.

That being said, I have used the "shes going to be 3 next month" for DD to be free a few times this summer already, And the savings ranged from $5-25

After looking at your siggy pic of your son, I think he looks much too old to pass for under age 2.

I wouldn't worry about "looking" 2 I have found that  people especially ones without children have no idea what an certain age looks like.

  • We had to do it a few weeks ago with DD who is almost 2.5. DH thought tickets were not needed till age 3. It was a sold out game. We put DD on DH's back in the Boba carrier and put a hat on her as we walked in the stadium. She is tall but the Boba is so deep she looked much younger. The only give away was her giant feet! I can't say we wont do it again this summer...

  • I wouldn't, but honestly not because of the lie.  We get tickets to about 10 hockey games a year.  We take DD to a few if they start early enough.  DD is within the free age, but it is a PITA to have her sit on laps.  There is no way I would want to sit in the heat with LO on my lap.
  • Does he *look* like a one-year old?

  • I paid for a third ticket!  :)

I do NOT think he looks under 2... but even still I'm more of a rule-follower than breaker usually.

  • If you think he could pass for a 2 year old. When my DS was just 3, he wasn't speaking well and couldn't tell you how old he was.

However, now...at 3.5, he speaks very well and knows he's 3, so we couldn't now.

  • honestly those kind of places dont even really look u just walk thru w/ him in a strohller

Ditto. Cost and frequency are factors, too. The summer after DD turned 2, I said she was still under 2 several times on Amtrak. Her ticket would have been about $100 r/t for each trip, so it really added up. Plus, I think Amtrak is ridiculously overpriced anyway and didn't mind sticking it to them. I don't have the same "beef" with being charged admission to a ball game.

  • I would be honest.

In those cases, I prefer to have the seat anyways.

  • I would be honest. I prefer seats instead of not. ILs did not get DS a seat for a baseball game and it was a bit of a pain. With Toy Story on Ice, I got DS a seat,e even though, he was in the age range of not having a required one.
