delay.....

So we wont be coming home tomorrow as expected.  But we will only have to stay a few more days.  Madi's still having problems taking her bottles without issues and she didnt pass her hearing test yesterday.  The tech admitted she was inexperienced and was having trouble administering the test with all the noise in the unit and with DD crying like crazy.  So I'm not letting myself freak out about it - they are re-doing it today.  Wish us luck - it looks like she will be coming home on the 4th! so there will be fireworks when she comes home!

    Wow, coming home before her due date even......she's a little rock star!!!

     I hope the hearing test goes well today.

    So sorry for the delay! The last few weeks and all the "delays" nearly killed me! I just wanted to say dont flip out about hearing tests as much as possible. Ella failed both her hearing tests in the NICU. We of course received a million letters and calls about her failing it because apparently it is a state test. At 6 months (after being home for a bit) we took her back and she passed and they said she just had fluid in her ears and probably later in childhood would need tubes in her ears!

    I'm so sorry...it's really hard when the date gets pushed back. It's easier said than done, but try and think soon, rather than a specific date. Whenever they told me a date I'd say, yeah, right, in my head. If he came home, great. If not, well...not unexpected. We did NICU twice Huh? If they need to do more things/make sure she's ready - then good. Get it all done in one swoop because the longest walk is the walk back to NICU.

    The NICU nurses told me that it is super common for preemies to fail their hearing screenings (actually any small baby).  Their ear canals are small and the machine sometimes has trouble picking up because of that. That shouldn't keep you from going home.   You can always go back in a week or so to have it redone. 

    Praying for an independence day homecoming! (talk about a true independence day!)
