What do you do with LO when they are fighting a nap? B will now fall asleep with a swaddle for a nap, but the past few days he has been fighting hardcore! And he's sucking on the paci like it's his job - cries a bit if it falls out.
DD always fights her naps. I try everything paci, rocking, swing, bouncy seat, but still haven't found the key to it. She will eventually fall asleep to one of them, but it takes awhile.
My weight loss plan is based primarily on getting up every 5 seconds to give her the paci when it falls out. It sucks.
this!!
half the time i am able to just put her in her bed to chill. if she usually falls asleep within 10 minutes. if she cries i just rock her and burp her and she eventually falls asleep. i think theyre still learning to fall asleep at this age so i try to just find something good on tv and not stress abiout it!
My child is the queen of fighting sleep! I just try like he'll and watch my DVRed shows to keep my sanity!
what shows do you have dvr'd? the six week growth spurt, whcih seems to be over knock-on-wood, totally cleaned out my dvr...
I dvr a bunch of stupid crap that doesn't require much in terms of comprehension skills at 3 in the morning. My Fair Wedding, the Real Housewives of (take your pick)...they tend to be on all the time so there's plenty to record!

I have some left over shows from last season that I haven't seen yet- Bones, CSI, Gossip Girl, 90210 (yes, I love trash tv). New shows I am recording now are The Glades and Pretty Little Liars.
I'm in nap fighting hell as I type. Usually if I bounce him on my exercise ball and play Rockabye Baby lullabies, he'll fall asleep. We've bounced for an hour now but he won't fall asleep. He starts to drift off then his eyes shoot open. I thought he was tired because he was super fussy (and clean and fed) and usually wants to nap every 2 hours or so, but I give up. I just laid him down on his play mat to see if a little activity will wear him out.

I love Pretty Little Liars! What is The Glades like? There's also that new Rachel Bilson coming on, Hart of Dixie. And of course the Bachelorette...

PLL is my guilty pleasure. I really enjoy that show! I look forward to it every week!! But I really like that teen drama stuff, it is total brain candy!
The Glades is good - but I like that type of drama. It entertains me because the main character is 1) hot, and 2) sarcastic as hell. I love sarcasm. It is not as intense as shows like CSI and Criminal Minds (and I love both of those), it is a little "fluffier".
I swaddle LO, lay her on her side (on my knees), sway her back and forth, and "shush" her. Right out of Happiest Baby on the Block. Works just about every time - usually after about 10 min or so.
My DD falls asleep any time she nurses and most times after her bottle of formula while burping. As long as she stays on my or the boppy, she will sleep like a dream. As soon as I put her down, she wakes up. I'm really hoping the dreaded 6-week growth spurt is to blame and it gets better soon because I am dead tired!!! DD never falls asleep when I lay her down awake. I think she has twice in her life. I have no idea how to teach her to do that and I'm too tired to figure it out.
