Another PTing question...

I find myself in a very strange situation, it seems as F has decided to PT herself.  I have been trying to get her used to the concept for months now, but she never showed any interest.  We tried the three day boot camp thing a fews months back and it was a complete fail.

Three days ago she used the potty for the first time.  And since then, as long as it is daytime, she asks to use the potty and does so.  Not a single wet diaper.  How soon should I try underpants with her?  I feel like we have gone from 0 to 60 and I am terribly confused.  She is obviously ready and is doing a great job on her own, but I am wary of actually ditching the diapers all together.

    Just do it!!  Ditch the diapers.  I found we needed to go cold turkey.  If we had them available he would use them.  It's great that she's obviously ready.  Take her to Target ASAP and let her pick them out (also get a ton of cheap shorts to go with them to cut down the frequency of laundry).  We were accident free in about 3 days.  Even in public.

    Definitely do it! You are ahead of us in that Natalie wasn't showing any interest in the potty whatsoever when we went to underwear cold turkey (it was a month before her 3rd birthday, so it was just time even though she wasn't showing interest). She had a couple accidents the first day, one the second, and then a string of days when she had poop accidents (but she has poop issues to begin with). Since then, we've been good. A little regression right before baby sister was born, but she's back on track and hardly ever has accidents. Cold turkey is the way to go! Good luck!

    ditch the diapers! at least during the day. dd has been waking up dry for months, but we still aren't ready to go cold turkey at night so we are still sleeping in pullups.

    we got dd panties with her favorite cartoon characters. that helps a lot when you say "you have to make sure you use the potty so that minnie/princess/dora doesn't get dirty".

    Do it!! I don't have much more input than the ladies above, but if she's asking, and going, during the day just pull the trigger. The laundry the first few days is horrific, but it's gone down significantly.

    We had a poop regression shortly after B was born, but we used marshmallows (Cars 2 to be specific) as incentive and now we've moved on to pennies. He's obsessed with putting pennies in his piggy bank, so every time he goes without having an accident he gets to put a penny in his bank. Bribery? Maybe so, but it works.

    She gets M&Ms, bribery totally works. 

    I guess I will rip the diaper band-aid tomorrow.  Best part: just ordered 172 diapers on Amazon.
