Hey mamas -
LO is on the chunky and long side - about 12.5 pounds and 23 inches at 2 months. He is rapidly outgrowing the 0-3 clothing - I am having some outfits he never got to wear!
At what point will you move up a clothing size - do I try a larger size on every week and see what fits? do I wait until it's all too tight, or move up now? Need some advice!
Re: clothing sizes
I really think it all depends on the brand of clothing, and the style of the outfit.
just keep trying the outfits, and if they are too tight, put them away and if they are too big put them in another pile. The clothes that don't fit her because they are too big, I try on her every couple of days hoping they'll fit.
He hates being dressed enough that trying things on him isn't really an option, so mostly I try to line things up according to how big they are (how big they REALLY are, not the number on the tag...) and just eyeball what will fit. Doesn't always work out, though - he's already outgrown a number of things he hasn't worn. No big deal, though, since we didn't actually buy anything new for him. It's all 25 cent yardsale specials...
I do think the sizing on the tag is ridiculous, though. I have some things in 0-3 that are smaller than other brands' newborn stuff.

My LO has been wearing a mix of sizes. He still fits a couple of newborn onesies and a couple of pants/shorts in 3-6 months. Each brand fits differently.
I wash everything after he has worn it and if it looks too small for him when it comes out of the wash then I put it in a box that I have beside his changing area for all his outgrown clothes. I plan on putting all of his 0 to 6 month clothes in one box. If I think he can get one more wear out of it, I will put it in the dresser and when it comes time to wear it, I will see if it still fits, if not it will go in the box.
Baby #2 on the way!
