so much to do

....and no time.
My FI started a new job painting buildings out of town and is going to be gone 5-6 days at a time and then gets a week or so off in between jobs. The past week was the first trip, and I had my mom come stay with me because we had little notice he was going, and I had to work. It went well since I was busy doing stuff for our wedding, working and playing with baby. I started folding laundry day 1....it took til day 3 to finish folding them, I never thought I was going to get it done! Haha.

All I have to say is I had help and it was still hard. All you single mama's and military wives, I have to hand it to you. Your job is hard as heck!! How the heck do you do it? Especially now that I am going to get used to this, I have a question for you ladies. How do you actually get stuff done at home with baby on top of working a full time/part time job?

Re: so much to do

  • My husband left when Abbey was 3 weeks old to go back to afghanistan for another 6 months... I thought that he didn't help at all while he was here, man was I wrong. I didn't realize how much it helped me just to be able to ask him to hand me something or run to the kitchen and grab something, or take her and burp her while I pump. The first week was a nightmare from hell. Now we seem to be getting into a routine. I will be going back to work soon and I am dreading that day because I am exhausted as it is and I feel like I am getting nothing accomplished on a daily basis. I cannot wait for him to come home!

I was thinking the exact same thing today, counting down the minutes until DH came home for work so I could (woo!) do some dishes and some laundry. Never thought I'd be looking forward to housework so eagerly.

I have a friend whose husband was deployed the entire first year after their baby was born and I now consider her a superhero.
