Re: ~~Ectopic Survivor Check-in~~
Update: I had my HSG, which showed a completely blocked left tube, and my right tube looks fine. It shouldn't hurt my chances of getting pregnant, and will probably help me to not have an ectopic again since the left side is completely blocked instead of partially blocked. I really hope I didn't O when FF says I did, because if so we are completely out this month.
QOTW: I am the oldest child, and I have one younger brother.

Good morning! I hope everyone has a happy and safe 4th of July.
QOTW: I am the baby of the family (even though I'm almost 30..GULP). I have an older brother.
So I will be going back to work on Tuesday after my two week recovery. I am hoping that it will be the start of getting my life back to normal. I have a couple of bbq's this weekend to get my feet wet when it comes to being around people again....I have been in solitary confinement for the most part. The last two days have been a little tough for me after finding out that a friend is pregnant and we would have been only 3 days apart. We also work together, so I get to see her pregnancy develop....everyday...fun. DH looks at the brighter side and says that when she gets back from maternity leave I will be going out...FX. My brother said that it's only a matter of a couple of months and our children will still grow up together. Aren't I lucky to have such a wonderful family?!
Yes, they said that is what would most likely happen since the left tube is damaged. However, they think the left tube was partially damaged before and it still picked up the egg for my ectopic so I don't think it's 100%. Hopefully the complete blockage will mostly fix the problem, though.
I hope going back to work goes smoothly for you!

Update: I'm currently in the 2WW and the MF is extremely strong. I feel every twinge and cramp and I'm just sure I'm pregnant (even though I'm fully aware that it's too early to tell). According to FF, AF is due next Friday so I'm going to try to hold off until next weekend to test.
QOTW: I'm the oldest. I only have 1 sister and she's younger by about 18 months.

Did they say anything about removing your blocked tube preemptively to make sure you can't get another ectopic in it?

No, she didn't mention surgery. She thinks it will not be a problem since it is completely blocked. I also would rather not have surgery, but I guess if it does happen again in that tube, then I will ask her about it.

New to this thread!
Name: Mika
Started trying Nov 2010 and got our BFP Jan 2 2011, EDD Sept 15th 2011. M/C Jan 21st, L tube ruptured and was removed Feb 2 2011. We got the OK to go ahead and start TTC again Feb 18th at my check up. We had a chemical preg in March. I have not been charting but this is the 2nd cycle with normal periods. Last month I really thought I could have been pregnant but AF showed up on time so I am hoping and keeping my fingers crossed that I O'd on the phantom tube side and hopfully this will be our month. I am suppose to O this weekend, AF is due July 16th. If she shows I will start charting.
QOTD: Im an only child
I didnt know that could happen. So if your tube is MIA, could the working one still pick up an egg from across town?
Yes, the doctors have said that you can O from the side with no tube and egg will find its way to the good tube (like a magnet). Also, the fully intact side may be the more dominant side more often now meaning you can get pregnant ANY month! A glimmer of hope in midst of feeling hopeless
Sorry for your losses, and welcome to the group.

Yes, my doctor said most people think right ovary ovulation means right tube and vice versa (which I did), but that the egg gets dumped into a common area and either tube could pick it up. She thinks it's a good chance that the good tube will get it mostly, since the other one is damaged. I read online it's only 7% less chance to get pregnant with one tube than with two. I'm guessing that a surgical removal of the bad tube would even increase my chances more, but I'm not ready for that. We don't know how far up the blockage is, or if it is throughout the whole tube, or whatever, so the egg could still start going down that tube and then stop. But we do know it is unlikely sperm would go up there, since dye didn't.

Thanks Delino and Michaela!
That is so wierd, I honestly had no idea that it could travel and maybe be picked up by the good tube. That actually makes me feel better! Thanks for the welcomes, and I hate we all have to be here, but ya know...
I hope yall all have a great holiday weekend!!
So I started spotting AGAIN on Sunday after the DH and I had sex. Not sure if its AF or what. My HCG last week was at 370 so not sure if I can even get AF yet? More blood work this afternoon.
QOTW: Im an only child and I love it! my 2 cousins are more like sisters so Im very blessed to have them in my life. Oh and did I mention my 1 cousin is preggers and we would have been 1 month apart. She is a whole diff story/rant!!
