Picking up my lab slip for my RPL/Karyotype tomorrow and I'd like to get it started cooking so we can have some results by my WTF next week.I forgot to ask the doc one question though- how many vials are usually collected? Just a general estimate is fine.
I tend to pass out if I give more than about 3 vials of blood. Not a problem, but I'll need to have DH drive me on his lunch break if it's a big panel.
Re: RPL Panel- if you have experience, quick Q
I am so sorry for your loss.
I don't remember exactly how many vials were for each - I had RPL and auto- immune testing done all together and it was 12 vials I think but I am not sure how much were for the RPL tests. You might want hubby there.
I hope you get some answers!

SAIF/PAIF Welcome
Lots of love and luck to my PAIF/3T/IF Veteran ladies, especially my dear friend Zookie. Congrats to Papps, Teach84 and Starbuck on their little ones.
Oh gosh - a lot!! I think they took like 9 or 10 vials of blood for mine. My DH had to have some b/w done too, but only like 2 or 3 vials for him. I am not sure they will have your results back by next week either, unless they told you they would. Mine took a couple of weeks, but every lab is different. Yours might be faster.
Good luck, I hope you don't pass out!
I know the karyotype won't be back (It took us 10 weeks to get DH's back), but I'm hoping that some of the yes/no tests will. If not, no problem.
DH has actually already done the guy portion of this- we wanted to rule out chromosomal factors for his low everything last year (his mom had 7 miscarriages and 2 live births so there was something going on- no idea what though) and he checked out normal.
DH on how many vials: "Shouldn't they just use a jar at that point? Good god."
Heh. Guess I'd better bring along a cookie and a driver.

I had something like 9 vials drawn for the RPL panel at my RE's office. However, he did not do the karyotyping. I had that done with my second opinion RE along with a few common RPL tests that my RE didn't do. For the panel that my second opinion RE did, I had 20 vials of blood drawn and then had 3 more the next day because the lab missed a few.
I got most of the RPL blood work back pretty quickly. There were a few tests that did take more than a week, though. The karyotyping took 4-5 weeks to get back.
Good luck!

Not sure what to do now. Sad and lost.
We decided to delay it until Tuesday so that we'd have more than a lunch hour to collect if it got sketchy- I really do pass completely out if too much is drawn so it'll probably take a while if it's the full deal. It didn't sound like we had a chance of getting much back before the WTF anyway.
Thanks for all the answers!
