  Just lurking here. Not a single mom, but a mom of 2 boys. Just wanted to let you know that things will get better. Have you tried gas drops? Could there be something else wrong like an ear infection? I know how stressful a crying baby is. I hope you get some needed rest so you can have a better day.

  TY no i haven't tried the gas drops yet. He got fussy last night in his jumper I let him cry for a little bit then took him out and nursed him. He finally nursed with no problems. he fell asleep well nursing so i recliened the couch and curled up with him and we both slept till about a half hour ago (6:45am)...now were up playing on the floor

  I didn't know you were a single mom Kristy! Arden and I go for a lot of drives. He likes riding in the car and I don't mind driving so it gives us both a break...and usually I get a milkshake too lol

  Usually when they cry when you lay them down it is an ear infection and it hurts because the pressure is building up! You should take him to the doc. But it could be from lack of sleep. When mine (will be 9months 11th) doesnt get a full nap or doesn't sleep well he will be cranky a whole day.. cries when i put him in the high chair.. cries when i put him on the floor..cries when i put him in the bed.. even cries when i hold him! so you are not alone, don't feel bad!! I honestly have to put Nathan down sometimes and just let him cry until i can gather my composure. I will do dishes or something and he enjoys watching the water.. if i dont give him attention he will eventually stop crying a play with a toy (in his high chair). Also if i run him a bath in the sink he calms down immediately! Loves the water so you might want to try that. Hang in there girl! And when your family gets back def ask for help so you can have some relaxation time! And don't spend it worrying about your babe because your family i am sure takes good care of him and would let you know if anything is wrong while you are gone =] I haven't talked to any other single moms so sorry this is so long! I am glad I am not the only one who is finding this so difficult. we can do it!

  I forgot about baths! Baths usually calm my DS down too. Sometimes I get in with him.
