Trying to Get Pregnant

Preseed versus no lube?

Newbie here... I haven't been posting too much, but certainly lurking quite a bit! Anyway, this may seem like a silly question, and maybe TMI, but...

If we don't need extra lubrication, should we still use some Preseed to help the process a bit, or is it better to go without lube if we do not need it? Maybe it does not matter either way?

Re: Preseed versus no lube?

  • We don't need extra lube per-say either, but I have yet to notice any ewcm. I get a bit of watery cm but that's it for the last few cycles (even when I drank green tea from cd1-O), so if this cycle is not our BFP cycle I plan to try it out next cycle during my fertile window because I figure it can't hurt any to try it.

I just know from reading on here that if you do try it, use less than the package calls for because I've read several women say that what the package calls for is way too much.

  • Well in my experience, we don't need lube either, but I added preseed to the mix last cycle and got a bfp.  It ended in a c/p, but I'm definitely going to use it again this cycle.  How much of the bfp had to do with the preseed I don't know.  If you use it, just make sure you use about 1/3 of the recommended amount on the box!

  • I've been wondering this same thing!  Where can you buy preseed?

  • Preseed is wonderful! Just don't use as much, that is what I do.

Preseed can be bought at CVS, or at amazon.

You can buy it at CVS or on Amazon.

This was our first cycle using it, I'm hopeful because I don't get EWCM and it mimicks that. I figure even if I did get fertile CM I'd give it a try, it can't help to give the sperm an extra friendly environment, KWIM?

I think Target has it too. It gives a list on their website.

    What is preseed?

It's a sperm friendly lubricant that mimics ewcm

  • We don't really need lube either but I bought it this cycle to try it out. As others said, I figured it couldn't hurt.  Unforunately unless I had an O fakeout it looks like we missed our window this cycle.  I never got to use it b/c DH was OOT. Sad

  • we've been using pre-seed this cycle and I love it. I don't make much EWCM or much of my own natural "lube" I've been using it internally (ALOT less than they recommend, about 1.5 grams) and it makes everything a lot easier.

Whether it helps to conceive because of my lack of EWCM, I don't know yet. But I did post a poll on 1st Tri asking if the ladies used Pre-seed and how long they had been using it before they got a BFP. There was a decent amount of ladies who got pregnant after using it for 1-4 cycles. Others obviously didn't use it. And some it took a lot longer.

Here is the link to the post (I don't know how to make it clicky):
