North County Inland OBGYN Recs

Hi. I just found out on Sunday that my husband and I are expecting our first baby in February. I have an appt with my general doc on Wednesday to have blood work done and what not but I am looking for a good OBGYN. I have never had a seperate gyno I have always just used my primary doc. Anyone have any recs? Thanks in advance!

By the way Im Karen and Im 26. If there are any other expecting moms around my due date I would love to stay in touch over these next nine months!

  • I don't have any north county recs but wanted to say hello and that you should also check out the Feb 2012 board.  I'm also due in Feb!  H & H 9 months!

  • Do you have a hospital preference? I went through Scripps and my dr. was Kevin McNeely and he as really good. Prior I had never been to a male gyno but due to some early complications I had he was my only choice.  I was really surprised at how much umm...gentler he was than most of the women gynos I went to.  I'm super sensitive about everything "down there" and he was very conscious of this up through my delivery when he even made sure the nurses weren't doing too many exams and such.  He is located in Carmel Mountain, across from the Costco, we also have a great pedi in the same office :).  Good luck!

  • I agree all the drs in that group (Mcneely) are great. I have Dr Edwards and have seen almost all of the drs in the group due to complications with this pregnancy. I would highly recommend Scripps Clinic RB
  • I go to Scripps Clinic in Rancho Bernardo (just off of Carmel Mountain Road) and see Dr. Ronald Salzetti.  I really like him.  He made me feel comfortable with him since my first visit.  He was great at listening to me and encouraged me to ask as many questions as I wanted.  I also appreciated that when he gave me the info on foods to avoid while pregnant, he did say that the medical community says he had to warn me about avoiding deli meats but also mentioned in the 20+ years that he's been in the profession that he's never had one of his patients encounter any problems with deli meats.

     Good luck!

  • My OBGYN is awesome!!! Her name is Dr. Vivian Ellis! She is at Scripps Clinic Carmel Valley and she delivers in La Jolla!!! I'm very very very happy with her and her staff! :D
