Anyone else's LO not care about toys?

DD will be 3 months Tuesday and really doesn't care about her toys. She sometimes has about 15 seconds of interest in a rattle, but other than that she really doesn't care about them. Is this typical for a baby her age?

Yep - mine could care less about all of her fancy toys. The cheap rattle gets the most play but maybe for about 10 seconds max - I think it's normal and fine. :)

  • I don't know for sure if it's "normal, "but my DS also has little to no interest in toys...He will be 11 weeks old tomorrow. He'd way rather be interacting with us!

  • I've been wondering this for a few days now and almost posted the same question. She couldn't care less, for the most part. She likes the hanging animals on her play mat and she likes the music from her Seahorse (but doesn't care about the seahorse itself.)

I was starting to worry there was something wrong.

  • DD doesn't care a lick about toys.. I do rattles/grasping type toys in front of her, but she focuses in on ME, and that is a-ok in my book. The more eye contact the better! :>)

I wouldn't worry at all. It's past 3 months I think that the toys become more a part of their day.

Totally typical.  DS does like to read books with  me, and bright pics along with rhyming text hold his attention way more than any toy.

  • Mine could care less about toys too.  She'd rather look at me and smile.

  • DS couldn't care less about his toys either. Like pp mentioned, he likes the music from his Seahorse, but not the actual toy. He is much more interested in interacting with DH or I and that's great IMO. I think as long as he shows interest in something that's all that matters.
