need to vent, it shouldnt be this hard.

This is my first post ever and I normally dont vent to complete strangers but I just so frustrated that I could cry. It is just crazy to me that before we get married we use protection trying not to get pregnant and now I would do anything to get prego... crazy how that works. I am 23 and we have been trying for a year before we went and seen a doctor since they dont take you seriously when your trying to get prego when your my age i guess, now we do temp and i am on my second round of 100mg clomiden . Your suppose to start it 5 days after your period starts and after your done w the 5 days of pills to start having sex but 13 days total i still have my period :/ just seems like my body doesnt want to help me out here.I have had horrible pain were both ovaries are, i called my gyno and she has scheduled and ultrasound and  Now my hubby will be out of town 4 days straight then home for 3 days. I know ther are ppl that have been trying longer than we are and I hope your not rolling your eyes while reading this, Im just so frustrated!

thanks you reading my story. Good luck to everyone and Im wishing everyone baby dust!!!

First - please edit your posts for grammar and punctuation. It's extremely hard to read run-on sentences.

Second - If you're on clomid, you should be monitored with b/w and u/s so you don't have to ask this type of questions. No one but your doctor can  tell you what's going on. Also, you should have had b/w, u/s, HSG and your DH should have an SA before you even start treatment. No point taking meds to make you ovulate if that's not your problem.

    Edit - wording.

Not getting pregnant when you're ready is frustrating, no matter what your age.  It sounds like you're getting treatment.  Are you going to an OB/GYN or a RE?  Have you had any diagnostic testing done?  If you are taking Clomid, though, you really should be monitored with ultrasound and bloodwork somewhere around the 3rd day of your period for baseline, and again around the 10th day after your period started to see if/how many follicles are developing and what your hormone levels are.  If you're not getting this kind of monitoring, you should ask your doctor to do it or to refer you to a specialist who can.

Good luck!  Hope your stay on this board is short.

The only blood work I have had done is for pcos which came back negative. I have never had an ultrasound. I am seeing a OB/GYN and have to drive 1 1/2 to see her.  She said that she could get me pregnant in the first 6months but we are on month 7.

Also sorry for the wording, I didnt know it was english class

If your b/w for PCOS was negative, why does she have you on Clomid? I would recommend getting a second opinion, fast. If your doctor is giving you meds you don't need and not monitoring you, it's not going to help you, and could risk your health.

Also, it's not English class, but your post was hard to read.

A lot of ob/gyn's will start women on clomid without doing a full work up because it is easy, relatively cheap and sometimes it works. But there are other reasons it could be difficult for you to get pregnant and Clomid won't help with those.

Has your husband had a semen analysis? Have you had an HSG to make sure your tubes are open? Both of those problems would make it difficult to get pregnant, and Clomid won't help.

There's a link in my siggy for the TTTC blog. There's a lot of basic information about the different causes of infertility and the testing that is typically done. Check it out, and ask your doctor whether they think you should think about looking at other causes for your troubles.

    Good luck.

I'm confused...so you've been TTC for only 7 months and are on Clomid?  Or you've been TTC for over a year and you've been with this DR an additional 7 months?

We have been TTC for over a year before we even met with our doctor. I have been on clomid for 7month, so total of 19months.

No, my husband has had no testing done. The doctor asked him if he works on a farm or with birds and that it may lower his sperm count. He told her that he is a farm but she still didnt do any tests. No, I havent had an HSG done.

You've done 7 cycles of clomid????  That is scary, because most doctors say you should not do more than 6 cycles IN YOUR LIFETIME because it can increase your risk of ovarian cancer and other complications.  If your doc has let you do so many rounds of clomid without even bothering to do testing beforehand, I would seriously consider looking for a new doctor if you have other options in your area.

If you haven't read it already, here is a link with some useful info about IF issues and the different testing that should be done.  https://troublettc.blogspot.com//

7 cycles of clomid without any monitoring is alarming.  You need to stop taking clomid and RUN from this obgyn.  Please read this about the dangers of taking clomid without being monitored: https://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/37115533/ShowThread.aspx?MsdVisit=1

Please see an RE as soon as possible.  And if you can't get in soon, please make sure to get an ultrasound immediately.

7 cycles with no testing?  As PPs said you need to RUN from this DR and find a new one.
