I have used Care.com (although Sittercity and Care4hire.com I have heard good things about too). I really like all the options Care.com has--the layout is great and easy to navigate. The babysitter or nanny will have her availability schedule and you can see what she is willing to do (cooking, transportation, etc). I really do love reading each profile as I feel it connects you to the sitter--maybe she has the same interests as your kids. Plus, you can also see if she has her background check on file, which is great too.
The thing I like most about Care.com is the community it has. I always join in on Facebook to see what the latest discussion is and follow them on Twitter (@CaredotCom) too. They have a great blog and really good articles (I have shared their Summer Safety Guide with all my friends) and even a way to find last minute care. For me, since I trust the site, I feel like anyone would be a good fit (I still will interview of course).
I know Care.com has listings for every town so just do a search for your town by typing in your zip code. For example: https://www.care.com/78202 brings you to the San Antonio page. If you like what you see, go from there.
