UGH. Lucas just wiped his poo all over his room, he is terrible about settling himself down for naps and it's been an hour. I've tried everything. He uses his poo as a way to prolong it, as he always tells me "mama I'm pew-u, I need a change" today he just pood and wiped it everywhere - YUCK!
Any nap advice, I've tried the stand at the door, close the door, rub his back until he falls asleep is the only thing that will work and even that takes an hour... ugh.
Help!

I just reverse baby proofed L's room and put the door nob cover on the inside because he will not settle down. I'm at the point where I don't care if he sleeps I just need him to stay in there and realize I'm not going to play his game. He gets me so frustrated and I don't want to get mad at him, I just need 30 min alone!
Is that legal? I'll probably end up on some talk show someday "my mom locked me in my room"

I'll be on there with you, we could make it a mom-date.
Ben is 4 1/2 and still naps!!
Can you tell him that he can sleep or play, but it has to be quietly in his room no matter what. And then get a clock that lights up to tell him when his quiet time is over. Like the "OK to Wake" clock... there are others too.
And Max is not even 2 1/2 and is done napping! I hate to say it but that may be the case for you too. I still put him in his crib for an hour. So far he hasn't protested although he is currently up there saying "Mama, open door!" over and over. I've tried an earlier nap, a later nap, you name it. He's been waking up at 7:00 every morning and still not napping. Some kids just stop earlier than others.
And ick on the poo, I agree with putting the jammies on backwards.
Thanks ladies - I like the idea of the clock, since brother naps (and they now have their own rooms) I might just let him do what he wants, I'm done being frustrated about it. Today gavin slept, woke up and heard Luc and went in and rescued him and opened his door. It was actually pretty funny, but no nap for luc...
Keri - I think Luc may be done too, I just talked to my mom and I stopped napping at 2... ugh.

Yeah, DH and I both stopped napping at 2, so I think we're in for the same with Max, we'll see what happens with Anna. Maybe she'll surprise us.
Keep trying. Around 2 1/2 Ben went for a week without napping. Right when I was pregnant and needed naps!!! I just kept making him try and kept him in his room for at least an hour, and then he started napping again. Phew. SO you never know. But definitely kids stop napping at a wide range of ages.
Oh believe me, we're not giving up! And he does nap maybe once or twice a week, but it's been this way for months now, so I have a feeling it's the transition out of nap. Sigh.
