wedding pictures vent....

..on the cell.. sorry no expressions...

my wedding was may 7th... i hired an expensive wedding photographer.. she said itd take 6 to 8 wks for the pictures.. ive been trying to email her to get another session with her to do my trash the dress session.. only god knows why she hasnt wrote me back on that..

well my weight has shifted and theres no way i can squeeze back into my dress.. so i emailed my photographer to see if i could change the trash the dress into a baby plan.. meaning pics of newborn 3mon 6mon 9mon and 12.. pretty good deal huh..

well she told me like 3 weeks ago that my pictures would be done at the end of june.. well guess what.. no pictures.. when i emailed her about the baby plan she said the pictures would be done by july 20th...

i am just so annoyed bc i was pallning on using my wedding pictures as a thank you.. but gosh itll be christmas time before those get out..

If she is acting like this with your wedding pictures, no way in hell I'd hire her to do your baby pictures or any other sessions after that.

I would ask her to give you one or two files so you can do what you need for thank you cards and that she still has time on the rest.

I agree, very frustrating.

As a wedding planner who deals with brides a lot (and photographers), we get bombarded with questions like this! The summer is busy season and very well that your photographer is almost done with your photos but is also receiving 6 other emails a day from her may and June weddings, alone with engagements and newborn session clients! Give them a few days or even a week or two. It's only July 1st!

And to be honest a Trash the dress is not really an equivalent trade for a first year package.

While I agree with this in spirit, if the photographer gave a firm date for the pictures to be ready, she should have them ready by that date, not 3 weeks later. It's not the brides fault the photog might have overbooked herself. Either don't take so many jobs or give a longer timeline for getting the pics, but she should stick by what she says or she will be out of business.

I would check your contract to see when it says the pictures will be done. I also agree that a trash the dress session is not the equivilent of a first year plan.

Yes I agree. There's no excuse if she said they'd be ready by a certain time and they weren't. It's bad business and I wouldn't use that photographer if I knew they was how they operated.

Ditto here. I've never heard of this.

Trash the dress is doing something you would never have done in a million years the day of your wedding... some have taken it as far as floating down a stream in the dress, walking through a field, etc. Usually very artsy.

I totally see the brides point of view, but I also tend to think that waiting longer for the pics may mean the outcome will be better. If the photographer is taking extra time, maybe the pics will be all the better.

If you are not satisfied with the work, then I wouldn't book the same photographer for TTD or a newborn package.

I wish you luck in getting your photos. It took us over a year to get ours back and our photographer said that he ran out of money and couldn't actually print our photos. He said he was using one couple's money to finish another couple's photos and just got way behind. I'm surprised he'd admit that in writing... Anyway, good luck!!!

thanks for ur input.. there is nothing in the contract saying when the pictures would be done. and i wouldnt be so upset but she did other sessions after my wedding and posted some of there pics on her facebook page.. and yes she does a very good job..

if someone gave me 3000 dollars for pictures id do them right and on time.. but thats just me

i felt better after this post... thanks for the vent
