Cutting back to only 1 nap a day?

DD had been fighting her afternoon naps for about 2 weeks now. She goes down fairly easy for her morning nap and bed time but this afternoon nap is killing me. She literally will cruise, crawl, jabber, anything other than sleeping. Yesterday she cried on and off for over an hour and she never ended up taking a nap. Now, she has been in her crib for over an hour and she's still not sleeping, I'm about to just go take her out.

Is anyone having issues with this?

Yes I've noticed that LO is mostly only taking one nap at daycare.  Usually it straddles the morning/afternoon for example 10-1, or 12-2.  Now he is really tired when he gets home and wants to go to bed early.

I just pulled DS out of his crib after he fussed and played for over an hour while he was supposed to be sleeping. I heard they normally didn't cut out a nap until 18 months or so, but who knows!

I heard the same thing! DD has never been that great of a napper but one 45 min nap a day is not enough of a break for me! I wish this child would just sleep.

Your LO's are a few months older but my son has started doing the same thing. The last few days he has only slept about 20min for his afternoon nap, but I know he still needs that second nap because he gets very crabby and rubs his eyes, he just wont sleep.

Nap frustration is a killer. I think it is way too early for one nap though. Good luck!

I'm right there with ya! I get about an hour of free time every day now, which means I either relax and eat lunch, or I can do laundry and clean. Both have to happen!

We just recently dropped DSs late afternoon nap (he used to sleep for about 30 min, about 2-3 hours before bedtime).

Now he sleeps 30-60 min in the morning and then again in the early afternoon. People have said that he should be dropping another nap soon, or rather consolidating them into one longer nap, but I have no idea how to get this done - especially since his daycare puts him down twice!
