HELP!!! 35wks- pain down under!

Im 35 weeks & ever since last week Ive had this pain like someone is ripping my bones apart, or like ive been punched in the crotch... Its not my vajaja, just the bones on the sides of it. Its worse when Im trying to stand up or sit down, but I also feel it while walking. Ive tried hot baths, heating pads, & different positions, but nothing seems to help. Has anyone else expirenced this & what helps???

Re: HELP!!! 35wks- pain down under!

  • Yes.. currenly 5 weeks into this and I'm not even at the point you are. But it's your pelvic bones spreading apart for labor and to give enough room for the baby to move down the birth canal.

You can try a pregnancy brace but there is really nothing that will stop the pain ( Believe me I know) until the baby is out.

  • Be greatful you are just experiencing it now, I have had it since I swear 20 weeks, this is my 2nd and my doctor says there is nothing much you can do and it only gets worse the farther along you get (which is true) and after you have had one already.

Everything is loosening up and baby is getting in position.

Sorry no advice for relief, kinda just have to deal with it, I know how bad it hurts though :)

  • Yup- had that earlier on. Dr. said my ligaments actually detached from pubic bone and it was the ligaments just stretching.  He said that normally doesn't happen but does on occasion.  Sorry, no remedy. What helped, and what he recomended was taking it easy and taking time during the day to put feet up and rest.  I know hun, it hurts.  Staying off my feet helped me and I can see the difference now that Im more busy again (moving).  It starting to bother me again.  Good luck.

  • I also get the same pains... and someone advised me to sit on an exercise ball... there are a few ways to move around on one to help relieve labor pains but I not really to relieve the pain from getting ready :/  Maybe it is worth a try... good luck and at least you are almost there!

  • I have been experiencing this as well.  It is getting progressively worse, I figured it is because it is my 3rd pg.  Some women get very severe SPD and have to use a walker, or really have a hard time walking at all.  I was reading that some chiropractors can do adjustments that may help the pain, though not alleviate it.  You could also try a warm compress or warm bath.  Sorry to hear about it, it sucks.
  • The ligament between your pubic bone is loosening. I have had the same pain for a few weeks now. The Midwife sent me to the chiro and she has been doing adjustments this week. It seems to help, not completely alleviate the pain but, definitely help. You've just got to find a chiro that specializes in pregnancy.
