What did you get your LO for 2nd birthday?

DD turns 2 on Wednesday and I was thinking of a tricycle (the kind that I can push/steer until she gets the hang of it) or a battery powered ride-on. Any thoughts? Suggestions? TIA :)

Re: What did you get your LO for 2nd birthday?

  • I just bought my LO some random toys for her 2nd b-day (some I bought at a yard sale but they were in excellent shape and she loved them!).  But she already had the FB PowerWheels and she has just started to ride it pretty regularly.  She has a lot of fun with it.  I'd say with either of your ideas, you can't go wrong.  2 yr olds love the toys that move!  :)

  • We got her the Step2 Extreme Roller Coaster.

We already had a Barbie Jeep (free from my boss), tricycle (we found my sister's tricycles in my Grandparent's attic and they still look brand new and are 20 years old), a 2-wheel bike (free from my boss), so we probably would have bought her one of those if not for all the hand-me-downs.

  • We got a slide. It gets used everyday (in our playroom).

  • My in-laws got her a little tricycle which she is learning to use :) It doesn't have that handle in the back to push but she's getting the hang of it pretty quickly.

We got her a small party and possibly a trip in a few months (I know, major cop-outs, but it's expensive from Hawaii!)

Is it the Extreme Coaster or the Up and Down Roller Coaster? And how does she like it?

  • Not a lot.  She's the only grandchild on both sides, and we have a huge family that spoils her rotten.

We got her some furniture for her Loving Family Dollhouse, a princess cash register, and a couple of other small things.

He got his "big boy" room. A new twin bed, custom bed set, and lots of decor/paint to make the room look really good. He was very happy. : )

  • He got a PW Jeep from Grandpa and a Bounce house from Grandma so we bought him a bunch of the smaller things he liked.

  • We didn't get him a big toy this year, but some smaller stuff instead (t-ball set, soccer goal set, DVD, and a Melissa & Doug puzzle).

From others, though, he received a battery-powered quad ride-on, a trailer for his Cozy Couple, several cars and trucks, a Tow-Mater bubble maker push toy thing from Cars 2, a Melissa & Doug car carrier and blocks that look like bricks, a small broom and dustpan (he loves to help me clean!), and quite a few books.
