Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Small, selfish vent

My DH is applying to join the army (he has to get approval from the army dr due to some medical issues he had) and I am nervous and anxious. If he gets in he will be gone for 9 weeks. How am I supposed to take care of the baby, work full time, take care of the house and dog (and cat but she doesn't require much) and go to school?? I don't know if I can do all of that! :(

I know I should be excited for him to do what he wants and what could make him happy but right now all I can see is how much work I'll have to do. Yes I know this makes me a bad wife. I probably should have put this on the military board too.

End Selfish Vent.

  • Can you cut your hours back once he joins? That might make things easier especially since you get money for housing and you will get extra money because of your child.

  • You will be ok. I promise. It sucks, but tons of women/spouses do it everyday. You will be surprised at how strong you really are.

  • That sounds scary, but I am sure you are stronger than you think! Good luck! Are you in Lincoln, NE? I am up near Omaha!

  • If he deploys, he'll be gone for a helluva lot longer than 9 weeks. I hope you two have discussed this fully? Army wife life isn't fun.
