Absolutely ridiculous.

My RE's office is getting ready to start an IVF cycle after the holiday which means they have limited appointments.  I am switching to Femara this month and the nurse who just called me back tried to tell me that they won't be able to get me in for my monitoring appointment and that I might just have to do OPKs to time my IUI. Um.... what the hell. I'm seeing a RE for a freaking reason! I told her that I was not comfortable with this since I'm starting a new medication and I feel that having the ultrasound is very important. She said she'd go talk to the doctor about it and call me back. :sigh: I hate Army hospitals.

TTC February 2008 to October 2008 One year forced break due to OIF deployment #2
Resumed TTC in October 2009 HSG, Hysteroscopy, S/A all clear
Five total medicated cycles and IUI #1-3 = BFN and all while we were still "unexplained IF"
25 August Lap revealed Endo, adhesions and blocked left tube
September 2011: Femara + IUI #4 (IUI #1 post endo removal) =BFFN
November: IVF #1: Stims started 11/16 ER 11/25 (7R, 5F) ET 11/30 Transferred 2 beautiful expanding blastocysts +HPT 12/6/11
Beta #1 at 9dp5dt=153! Beta #2 at 16dp5dt= 4009!
Ultrasound 12/30 showed one beautiful heartbeat! EDD 17 August, 2012

Hazel Evelyn arrived 10 August, 2012!

    DH put on anastrozole to increase counts
    June/July 2011 100 mg Clomid + TS IUI#1 & IUI 2 - BFN :-(
    Forced break due to DH getting spinal surgery in August 2011
    IVF - January 2012: BFN
    FET in April 2012 - BFP at 6dp5dt! Beta #1 at 9dp5dt: 82.5, Beta #2 at 12dp5dt: 352 Beta #3 at 19dp5dt: 6000, saw heartbeat and one little bean at 5W6D!
    After nearly 3 years of waiting our LO was born December 18th 2012!

    Two C/P and Lots of Tests
    Me = LPD + cancer survivor, DH = low count and morphology
    IUIs #1-5, January 2011 - June 2011 = BFN
    IVF #1 in July/August 2011 = BFP!!!!!

    Wow... new meds with no monitoring? Perfect. :P

    TTC since September 2010
    March 2011: Diagnosed with PCOS
    First cycle 3/11: 50mg Clomid = No response
    Second cycle 4/11: 100mg Clomid = No response
    Third cycle 5/11: 2.5mg Femara + 150IU FSH CD7 and 8 = Follies, but BFN
    Fourth cycle 6/11: Femara + FSH again = Follies, but no ovulation and another BFN :(
    Fifth cycle 7/11: Femara + FSH again = Wait and see!

    Me: 27, DH: 28 TTC since 11/09
    2/10 & 3/10 Clomid 50mg-BFN
    5/10-Lap Surgery for Stage 2 Endo
    3/11-IUI#1 with Follistim and Menopur-developed mild OHSS= BFN
    6/11-IUI#2 with Follistim -developed moderate OHSS= BFN!
    7/11-FSH-11, AMH 1.6
    9/11-ttc naturally with positive thoughts :)
    10/6/11-POSITIVE pregnancy test!!! 15dpo BETA-220
    6/14/2012- Riley Harper arrived!! We love our little girl

    TTC since 3/07. IVF#1 = canceled. IVF#2 = 0% fertilization. IVF#3 = BFN. IVF#4 = c/p.  
    Moving forward with Adoption 2017!

    I think it's super awesome that they offer IVF to military families so they can do it at a lesser expensive. HOWEVER, if they are so short staffed that they can't provide proper and attentive care to the rest  of their patients then they need to do something else.  This isn't the first time this has happened. It happened when I had to schedule my HSG, my hysteroscopy and last month.

    WTF.  Did they get back to you yet?  I really hope you can get in with regular monitoring.  That's not even safe!  I swear, the women who work at the front desk of RE offices are really annoying (excluding any women on here who work at RE offices).

    Maybe you could start your meds and then around CD10 you can call and tell them you have a positive OPK so they can bring you in and check.  Then just say the stick must be broken.  Are you going to start still?  I'm sorry this is so difficult!

    Ugh, I'm so sorry.  That sounds incredibly frustrating.
    Mom to Eliott Alexander, born sleeping at 37 weeks on 8/13/10. Most of us only dream of angels - I held one in my arms.
