I went to the doctor about 2 weeks ago because for 2 days I was having these "hot flashes along with shakiness and feels like my heart is racing" episodes. My BP was 138/83 and they could find anything else wrong so said it was okay more likely just hormones (I have my GD test next week).
Lately I notice I am super shaky in the morning before I eat and then sometimes after I eat. I feel like my heart is going super fast and my head is just pounding. Could this be GD related or possible BP related?
I'm especially worried because we're leaving town for 4 days tomorrow and hate to have problems when in another state.
Re: Anyone having shaky/racing heart episodes?
It happens before and after I eat though (ate over 2 hours ago and still happening) and I also don't do caffeine at all.
P.S. Used a co-worker's BP machine and it was 120/83. I don't know what to think anymore...
I was in the ER this past Monday for some issues with my heart racing and they diagnosised me with SVT. I have a follow up appt with a cardio guy this coming 6th. If you have acess to a BP cuff (digital or manual) make sure you also note you pluse rate. When I went to the ER my symtpoms were racing heart, shortness of breath and a dizzy/light headed feeling. My BP was normal but my pluse was super high (my understanding is anything over 120bpm is high and mine was 180bpm)
It does not sound like we have the same symptoms, but i would definitely start keeping a record of the episodes with it and also be sure to document the pluse rate because sometimes just your BP can be misleading. (because a 120/83 BP is a little on the high side but nothing to really be alarmed about)
It also wouldnt hurt to make an appointment with your PCP to look into it. Though without seeing you while it is happening it may be hard for them to give you any information about it.
