When you heard the heartbeat for the first time...

Did you cry when you heard the heartbeat for the first time?  What about DH?  Did you expect yourself/ him to? 

I'm just curious about the reactions of others.  We should get to hear ours for the first time on Tuesday.  I am so excited!  I do have a confession though, I'm afraid that even though I'm so excited that I won't cry and that it'll make me seem not as excited.  This sounds dumb when I type it out. Embarrassed

    my dh def doesnt lol i would not expect him to, but i didnt marry a "cry" filled guy (not my style lol)

    the only time that i cried was for my dd3 bc i had a m/c before her.

    I've been wondering the exact same thing! I thought I would ball my eyes out at my first u/s but I didn't even well up, so I dont know if I would cry when I heard the HB. I was just so in awe of what I was staring at, I didn't even subconciously think to cry!

    Neither one of us cried, but we both had the biggest smiles plastered on our face!

    I just heard/saw it today and I started crying my eyes out immediately!!!!  I can still work myself up into a good cry about it!  DH didn't cry because he couldn't believe that wasn't my heartbeat Big Smile.  He grabbed my hand and squeezed really hard and then asked the tech "That's her heartbeat right?" and the tech said "no silly her heartbeat isn't in here it's up by her chest, this is your baby you're hearing"... then DH FINALLY got excited about the pregnancy.  He's been cautiously excited, but now it's full force.  GL!

    We just went to our initial prenatal yesterday and had our first u/s.  When we heard (and saw) the hearbeat, DH cried but I didn't.  I was more like "that is so cool," than teary.  I'm just so in awe of this whole process.  So, even if you don't cry, it doesn't mean you're not excited.  I am so excited!!

    I'm almost certain I'll cry.  I bet DH will get a little misty eyed too.  He has been sort of weird about the pregnancy (I don't think it's hit him at all) so maybe hearing/seeing something will finally make it a little more real for him.

    You know whats funny? With Levi when we heard the heart beat DH was tearing up and the only thing I said was "whoa...thats so cool". lol I am very sentimental usually...I cry about everything and I was planning on crying when I heard the heartbeat but I didn't. Don't feel bad if you don't cry or if DH doesn't. It really is amazing to hear the little heartbeat of your unborn miracle that is constantly growing inside of you.

    I will probably cry and so will DH, he is a big ol softy at heart and that's what I love about him, for goodness sakes if our DD spends the night at gmas house he gets all teary cause he missed her lol
