Trying to Get Pregnant

Another newbie!

Hi girls!

I've been lurking for about a week and after being so active on theknot while planning my wedding, I thought what the heck, might as well join in here too. :) DH and I have been trying for a whopping week and a half and from the looks of many posts, I'm in for a bit of a ride these next couple of months. I can't help the feeling of wanting to get pregnant on the first try, but the realistic side of me is saying get a grip it will likely take a while.

I stopped using NuvaRing in May and things have been pretty regular since, so I'm hoping that means that everything is in working order. I decided not to use an OPK just yet, and see how it goes. We've been going every other day from when I stopped my period and now that we are coming up on when I should be ovulating, we are doing it every day. I've gotten mixed messages on whether every day, every other day or every twelve hours is better, so hopefully more often is better. Who would have thought trying to get a job done could be so much fun. ;)

Anyways, thanks for all of the past and future help and good luck to everybody!!

  • Hello. GL to you. I would start tempting/charting if I were you. I have learned from being here that most people do not O on what is considered "normal."   Based on feedback from people on here, I O'd later than what Fertility Friend told me I O'd and it was later than I ever would have imagined.  Sign up for FF.. it is easy!

  • Welcome and good luck!

P.S. -- Every day or every other day is good if your DH has no known sperm issues.  Every 12 hours is a bit excessive and doesn't give the sperm much time to replenish.  JMO.
