Trying to Get Pregnant

HGG done. And hysteroscopy ?

Well, I had my HSG today.  Wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be.  The problem is that it was inconclusive because they couldn't see my left tube!  WTF!  They said it was maybe twisted behind the other one.

I ended up also having a SHG test today, which showed 'something' in my uterus.  A possibility of a polyp, which could be affecting the left tube.

It's been a long day.  *sigh*  My actual question is whether anyone has had a Hysteroscopy?  I'm having one Friday and I'm nervous!  Wanted to ask you ladies first b/c I'm a much more frequent poster on this board...

  • I'll find out next Friday if I'm having one.  I'm in basically the same boat--my RE thought he saw 2 "possible polyps".

From what I've heard it isn't as bad as a lap, but worse than an HSG.  You'll need to be put under and it usually requires 2 days of "bedrest" (the day of the procedure and the day after).

    GOOD LUCK!

I've never had a lap done, but I have had a HSG and hysteroscopy. The hysteroscopy was more painful than the HSG. I wasn't put under for it, my RE did it in her office. I didn't have to have bedrest or anything like that either, I just  went home and rested on the couch for the rest of the day. The only real side effect I had from my hysteroscopy was some cramping afterwards. They give you something to take in the morning before the procedure to soften your cervix.

  • I had a hysteroscopy done in February, and it was not bad at all. I was put out and the doctor said she removed polyps. When I went home I had some mild cramping and a little  spotting. I was pretty exhausted from the anesthesia. I slept most of the day, I took the next day off of work and just took it easy. My doctor wrote me a prescription for Tylenol 3 which I didn't need to take. Good Luck!

    IT'S A GIRL

  • I just had my hysteroscopy this morning and it was basically just like the HSG, a little cramping but done very quickly.  It wasn't bad at all.  They did find a polyp in front of one of my tubes, which they weren't expecting (they ewnt in for possible scar tissue that they thought they saw on the HSG).
