Test 6 days before your period...

What do we think that means? If my period is due on Monday, does that mean I count Monday as a day, as in I can test on Wednesday, or is it 6 full days, meaning I can test on Tuesday?

(and for the record, we all know I'll be peeing on anything that might change colors every day next week anyway. Wink just wanted to see what everyone thought)

    I have heard six days before your MISSED period. Meaning, the 6th day is the day after it is due, and you have actually missed it.

    LOL  I'm working reeeeeeeeally hard not to POAS, especially since I did way too early the other day, not using FMU, using a doc office stick (see previous post) so I broke all the rules and still somehow considered it a good idea Surprise

    Just thought this might help this chart shows the sensitivity of the tests to HCG I would wait until you are due for your period though...  I know easier said than done.  the longer you wait to poas the higher change you get for a  BFP

    That is based on a 28 day cycle with ovulation at CD14 and a 14 day LP. 

    Adjust that to your cycle.  Do you know when you ovulated/how many DPO you are?  Do you know your average LP length?  

    ETA:  If you have an 11 day LP and try to test 6 days before your missed period, implantation has not occurred.

    10 dpo : 35%
    11 dpo : 51%

    This is funny becasue I just posted another link in a different post for a just mommies page that lists the sensitivity of tests, and many of them are different!

    the whole "6 days before" thing can maybe work for those with long LPs (14+ days) and whole implanted on the early side.

    If you have an 11 or 10 day LP, you'll probably never get a positive that early no matter what the package says.

    My DH and I were just debating this yesterday (2 days before my expected AF). Call me crazy, but I don't really need to POAS to find out I'm KU if AF was supposed to come SIX days before that! I mean, she vists me every 27-29 days, if it was 6 days late, I wouldn't even need the stinking test! Clearly, women who aren't as regular would need that reasurance, I get that. But all this time (on commercials, etc.) I've thought that you could find out BEFORE you missed AF.
