Trying to Get Pregnant

Need a swift kick in the A$$.....

I really need to figure out what is holding me back and give myself a swift kick in the a**!! I really need to lose weight, about 40 pounds to be exact. And I need to get myself on track to study for and begin taking my Architectural Registration Exams! I just don't have the ambition to get it all done. I always find some other excuse of, "oh I'll start eating better next week" or "I don't have time to study." I have lost 40 pounds before, and I have put myself through 8 years of school already, so I know I can do everything I need to do!

You would think that because both of these things affect my family (Monetarily as well as maybe the problems of me getting pregnant and staying pregnant) I would be jumping up and running as fast as I could to get both things done....I just really don't have the drive to do them. And that is sad.....

So lets have a "Kick Babybear" contest and maybe you girls can shed some light as to why I feel the way I do. I hate feeling like this......

Re: Need a swift kick in the A$$.....

  • I won't "kick babybear," because I too have the same problem, I want to lose some weight like 40 pounds too and I just have a hard time.  I just wanted to give you a pep talk, I started this workout program called THE FIRM express.. its 20 minutes a day 3 times a week. I have  been keeping up on it because its ONLY 20 Minutes!  They do short bursts of energy followed by a "recovery" period.  I definitely feel it the next day and would recommend it to anyone.

Maybe make a goal of losing 1.5-2 pounds/week and see if that helps!? That is what I am going to try!  Good luck in all you do! And I am sorry that you have experienced a loss.

  • I've gone through a "funk" (as I like to call it) or two lately too. I find that keeping a positive attitude is the most important thing. Like you said, you have lost weight before and are no stranger to the academic world. You can do it!!!! Also, instead of setting a weight loss goal by pounds, try something like committing yourself to a 30 min walk everyday. With fresh fruits and veggies coming into season now I have been stocking up on those as healthy snacks. As soon as I get home from the market I wash and chop up the goods so they are easy to grab. HTH!

  • Thanks for the pep talk girls. I told DH at lunch that I needed his help to get me out of this funk and that we would talk about it later. A lot of it stems from me needing to do everything all in one day, from the laundry to the dishes, the yardwork, mowing, gardening, cooking, cleaning....all of it! I think it is time for him to take on some of what I'm doing if he wants me to devote time to something other then just tending to the house and yard. There are only so many hours in a day after working a full time job to get everything done. I just get overwhelmed and shut down and that is where I am right now......I just need a little help from him. So we are going to talk about it tonight....I will let you know what we come up with! thanks again ladies!
