Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Can we have a vent post?

Because I need to get something off of my chest. Literally.

I hate my nursing bras. With a passion. When I'm done BFing, I am going to burn them. No jokes.

DH said "Well don't you want to keep them for next time?" And then I got stabby.

Also, I have worn some regular bras but it's so much easier to pump and nurse in nursing bras.

But. I. Hate. Grrr. Argh.

  • Vent all you want my love.

  • I hated mine too, when I stopped pumping I contemplated burning but I did keep them for next time.

I'm angry that some old guy with a cold chose to sit next to me holding a baby on the plane last weekend (Southwest so he could have sat elsewhere) and now both me and my baby are sick.  I think he was selfish and irresponsible.

  • I recently quit EP'ing and totally would have burned mine if we weren't in an area under burn ban!  I had to settle for throwing them in the trash.  Also, you can tell DH that bras are only good for 6 months or so because the elastic wears out, according to a friend of mine who owns a high-end lingerie shop.

    Here's my vent:

I am angry that only 1 person that was "activated" as a potential match for Kate has made any steps towards having additional testing done.

Why be on the national registry if you do not want to actually donate?  These people willingly signed up - so what gives?  I realize certain things can impact availability (pregnant, had surgery within the last year, etc) but I find it hard to believe that something like that is going on with the 4 other people activated.

Take yourself off of the registry if you are just going to be a flake when it's time to man up b/c you've possibly matched.

  • I feel ya, Simone.  I don't wear nursing bras anymore because I got sick of throwing away money hoping it would work for me.  I just wear my regular ones since my boobs never exploded to mammoth size like everyone and their mother told me they would.

  • I have a vent - Someone DIED in the handicapped bathroom on my floor.  I opened the door and the toilet was to the top and the smell was creeping into the hall.  Everyone poops in there because its it's own room with a door.  And our office manager is out today and no one else has the super's phone number.  I wrote "Do Not Use - Trust Me" on a piece of paper and taped it to the door.  I'm going to go vomit now.

  • I have a vent too: I've been looking at dayhomes for DS so I can go back to work. I found a great one. Her references rave about her and I feel comfortable with it. She called today to say she wants a trial morning with him to make sure he's a good fit. On one hand, that's awesome. On the other hand, he's a screamer and I'm terrified he'll be a dayhome reject at 10 months. :sad face:
  • DH, instead of sitting on your butt watching tv or playing a computer game, why don't you look for the pair of shorts that you absolutely must have for our Kansas trip? No you just want me to take time out of my day to hunt high and low for them.

  • I wish my Dh would stop buying stupid crap for our vacation & start saving some money for it!!!

I think a lot of people don't actually think they might ever be matched. I sent in my swabs a few days ago. Maybe I will be a match. (:

  • I wish my friend would stop bringing her sick kid around my son. He insists on playing with all of his toys (which I don't mind) but she never wipes his nose, and hasn't even attempted to teach him to cover his mouth. And now DS is sick.

Yeah, that doesn't make much sense. I'm sorry. =(
