DH finally said maybe which I take as a yes. I was at the mall yesterday and going to do it but I just couldn't knowing dh was so against it. He really believes that I will enter her into beauty pagents. He must forget that I don't have time for that I work almost every weekend. All he asked was I don't get the balls in her ears. He likes the little crystal flowers or something like that.
Re: Getting Sophia's ears pierced
This is the first I have ever heard of this and unless I am reading this wrong I don't think that is true. I had mine done when I was three and my younger cousins had them done when they were 5 (teenagers now). I tried googling and didn't find any where that you have to wait until 8 or 9 to have your ears pierced.
Julie, I don't think you missed the window. I went to Claire's website and it had no age restrictions other then any minors need an adult. We're going to wait until she's three, right now I fear she will pull them out like she does with hair bows and sun hats. Good luck!

Not that it is a rule, that is just how I feel. I had mine done at about 3 or 4 and 1 - I let the lady do one and didn't want her to do the other and 2 - the lady told me I had to be very careful so they didn't fall out so instead I kept making them tighter and tighter until I almost pushed the pearls through my ears and they got uber infected. All I was saying is that I feel the ages in between would be more apt to play with them or be afraid and not want it.
Haha - yeah...this is why you need to have adult supervision and why we won't do it. I just don't want ONE more thing on my plate of things to do
I really don't like sleeping with earrings in so I wouldn't want to do that to my babe just in case she feels the same way. My 4.5 yo niece just had them done and she did great and loves them!
Oh, and places now can do both ears at the same time - which I would definitely do when Leah wants to have hers done. I was planning on making a day of it with her. I think it's cute when older babies have theirs done - but I'm not a fan on really itty bitty ones, though. I definitely think people notice those before the actual baby..sort of like an "OMG she is really young to have her ears pierced!!" Even though to your face they will say "aww how cute" (never thought about it like that - but I think it is true in a lot of cases) Not that that would bother me to the point of not doing it...just thought I would comment.
If you really want to do it - then do it!! I bet she will be suer cute in them
Wow, you guys know people with a lot more tact than I do. No one I know has been afraid to make a face and say, "You got her ears pierced?!" Guess what, it isn't your kid, hence, not your decision. Also, the lady at Claire's told me that they should not do it both ears at once (maybe this was because Charlotte is still young) because they squirm too much and can't always get the right spot on the ear.
