As Ace is getting closer to 6 months old we are starting to think about what we will feed him when he starts solids. My husband has always been a big skeptic of the "organic" food movement but is willing to consider it for our son. Do you know where i can find some real scientific information supporting organic/preservative free foods for babies? Something that is not put out by the people selling the foods? We really want to make sure we are making a good decision for our son not based on inaccurate information. Thanks for your help!
Re: Organic/Preservative-Free Foods?
This.
I have a good intro article about GMOs that I can dig up and PM if you are interested. I found it on the Food Allergy board a few weeks ago.
In regards to convincing DH remind him that a 6 mo old will eat a very small amount so it is not like you are adding a big expense to your food budget. 1 squash would make several servings for DD when she started solids.
AND I must say that I am absolutely swooning over your siggy pic! I'm looking at a pic on my desk of DD when she was 4 weeks old and they have very similar little chins. This is not helping with my TTC fever :-).
One way I like to think about it is this:
If you saw someone in your supermarket spray your fruit down with Raid because there were fruit flies surrounding it would you #1 buy it anyway and #2 just give it a quick rinse and munch away?
Probably not, ya know? Same thing...
Oh, totally forgot! Rent the documentary Food, inc.
It's really good...I think you'd both enjoy it!
Absolutely this. It's a great film. It's on Netflix streaming too, if you have it.
