Do you have much experience with seconds? Are they usually in pretty good shape, or have you ever gotten one that you cannot use? I am new at this and this seems too good a deal to pass up.
I've bought seconds before and know plenty of people that have. I have yet to find anything wrong with the diapers, it's usually something like minor staining that can be sunned out or some other minor cosmetic issue that doesn't affect the diaper.
Cotton Babies does not list diapers that need velcro/elastic repaired as seconds, they go under a totally different category.
Thank you so much for sharing!! I got six last month during the sale, and now I can pick up some more. I'm cool with there not being inserts because those can be super cheap if you know where to look. Thank you again!

Saemilyn, depending on what state you live in, a lot of internet companies don't have to charge you tax. Usually only if they are shipping the product to the same state as it is manufactured or the store is located, so you should be fine.

I believe their website says they only charge tax in Missouri and Wisconsin or something. I wouldn't worry. It shoudl still get to you. If you find out later they should have taxed you you can claim it on your income taxes at the end of the year (if you are so inclined, I don't believe the majority of American's do this)

Ladies- I want to take advantage of this deal but I want to make sure that I also buy inserts. Where do you buy yours? Did you just add some from the Cotton Babies website to your cart or did you get them elsewhere for a better price?
And if you did but them on Cotton Babies' website did you buy the 6pack of inserts or the 6 pack of doublers? I?ve only bought Bumgenius new before and they usually come with 2 inserts- newborn and regular size, so I'm a little confused about how to buy them separately.
Hi Ladies I am new to this (I tend to lurk not post) But I have a question. I am going to be CDing and I like the BumGenius diapers but I am wondering if any of you have tried the All in ones? If so do you prefer the all in ones or the ones with inserts? Reasons? TIA...
there's a deal in the "used" section for a 6 pack of inserts for $9.
Bum genius one size doesn't normally fit a newborn, so you won't be able to use the dipes till LO get a little bigger so you can just get the regular size.
You can also just use prefolds as inserts.
I didn't buy any since I will have prefolds and I have a bunch of inserts on my Amazon registry.

It's all in preference of the parents and baby. Some people LOVE the AIO's because they're very easy, like a sposie. Others hate them b/c they take a LONG time to dry. AIO's are good for daycare or grandparents. They also cost more.
Pockets are more customizable since you can adjust the absorbancy as needed. Others HATE stuffing the pockets.
I'm planning on having a little of everything to start then I can decide from there what we like. For the newborn phase I'm doing prefolds and cover with a few fitteds thrown in for trips out of the house. Any AIO's or pockets I have are for when she's bigger.

You can get the inserts on their site, they have pretty good deals. My mom made me hemp inserts so i'll be using those for when the baby becomes a heavier wetter, behind the BG insert. Hemp is supposed to absorb a ton so something to look into for later on!

I started prepping/washing my diapers (what a process!). The AIO take FOREVER to dry, like hours if you line dry. The pockets, however, are a pain to stuff but dry very quickly. I guess you need to try them and see which you like better, I'm not sure which I'll end up using long-term!

I've never had an issue with their seconds. They did this a few months ago (a seconds sale) and I was itching to get my hands on the 4.0 (mine are all 3.0) they are terrific! Love the snaps!

Yep. I'm buying anything with a good review and a sale price.
Re: CD Mamas: BG 4.0 seconds for $10
Yea. They have some really cheap inserts on their site as well.

Hooray! I bought 5 and got the free dipe cover
Love a good CD deal! 5 regular price = $89.75
Saved $39.75 plus got a free cover and free shipping.
I'm concerned they didn't charge me tax... we'll see how that turns out.
