Working Moms

I am so tired

My dd is still not sleeping through the night, she still wakes up several times a night. I do only feed her once around 4 am, when she wakes up for the second time. This is just so rough, I am so tired everyday, I can't remember the last time I actually felt rested.

What is really frustrating is that my dh works night shift and he sleeps during the day while the kids are at daycare. He has a lot of trouble sleeping during the day as well and typically gets less sleep than even I do. So, when it comes to getting some relief in that area, it is hard to come by. I can't sleep in on Saturday's, as my dh is just laying down to sleep for the day, as he worked on Friday night. Sunday's we both have to get up early for church and visiting family.

Thankfully my dh goes back to day shift in 4 months and maybe then we both can get some rest. But, by then, dd will probably be sleeping through the night anyway.

  • You poor thing, you have to get that baby sleeping at night!  Is she on solids yet?  She shouldn't be hungry at night like that at her age.

  • mmy dh works nights too.well he switches back and forth every month. I work PT, so I get up with the baby for night feedings. It's exhausting. I'm dying today and I am only work 4 hrs a day. But I work afternoons, so getting off at 5, getting the baby, dinner, bath, bedtime, clean house. It's dauting.

I hear ya. The night shift and having dc on your own sucks. I would give anything for my dh to work a normal 9-5 job.

    (((HUGS))) you're not alone.

  • Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry you have to go thru this!  That sucks.  MY DD went thru a horrible stage from 6-10 months of total SHlT for sleep.  I mean I'd be lucky to only get up 3 x a night.

This family who is visiting you on Sundays, can they offer you relief Fri night so you AND your hubby can get some good sleep that night?  It helps tremendously.

    Good luck!

  • I'm sorry you are unable to get any rest.  Does your dd have a paci?  Sometimes I let Katie sleep with me so she doesn't wake her siste and she sleeps all night that way.  She will still sleep in her crib though.  I hope you get some rest soon.l

  • We started her on solids a few weeks ago, but not much as we are trying to get her acclamated to eating solids. She ate a lot last night for some reason, so I just let her eat. She did only wake up once last night, thank goodness.

She doesn't take a pacifier, she refuses them. She likes her thumb a whole lot better.  . .

  • I'm so tired too.  I think the combination of her and me being sick, being stressed at work and the changing weather is making me even more tired :)  I would love to sleep for 8 hrs straight.... just ONCE :)
