Breaking out when you O?

Since I started charting in January (I manually chart...no FF), I realized that 1-2 days before I O, I break out something terrible. 2 or 3 big pimples on my chin, not just the little bumps! I guess I always associated it with AF, but after 6 cycles, I think I finally put it together. Anyone else have this, too?

This happens to me too! On my chin, & nowhere else, really. They aren't just regular little pimples either. These are full on boil-like bumps under my skin. The ones that are red & painful that you can't do anything about because they are under the surface. I'm suffering from a couple right now (if you couldn't tell by my enthusiasm).

I too, noticed the pattern & I'm pretty sure O is the culprit of my breakouts. Not just AF. Damn hormones. Super Angry

I was told by my dermatologist that breakouts on the chin are very hormonal.

They are painful and manage to come through any kind of makeup! I'm just glad they don't pop up anywhere else besides my chin.

I just recently started getting them on my back. For years they were always on my face (and they are cystic zits - because they are very deep, and are formed in a pouch type area under the skin. They are too deep to pop (the ones on the face) unless you gouge them out, which is annoying because I am a total popper... But probably within the last 7 months or so they have started coming in on my rhomboid area of my back. I only get like one or two - but it drives me crazy, and I have NEVER had an issue with acne anywhere other than my face. Also - it is ALWAYS during my O time. I never had made the correlation until I began to chart. It is funny how we find these things that we thought were just random pains or issues with us - and how they seem to show up at the same time each month!

Yes. I have the same problem! I am due to O any day now and when I woke up this morning I had a couple big ones on my chin... it is so irritating. One of mine was one of those deep ones that hurts but you can't pop and this morning it had a huge gross head on it. Yuck. And I refuse to go into public looking like someone shot spitballs on my face and I just let them stay... so I am definitely a popper... lol.

Yes!!

I always noticed that I broke out about 2-2 1/2 weeks before AF and never right before AF. I didn't make a connection until I started charting and mapping my ''symptoms''. I tend to break out one big one under the skin on my chin and also a small spot on my cheek. It's so annoying!

Me too - on my back! I've never had anything like that before this month!!
