Infertility Veterans

FML

There were two plans higher than mine at my work, both are the "Cadillac" plans that don't need referrals, copays, etc.  And they're quite expensive.

...but neither one covers IVF at all. 

I don't know if IF is making me crazy, but for some reason, I actually thought this might work out...

    Dx -Ute cancer, DOR from cancer treatments, and embryo quality issues. NOV 2010 CANCER FREE
    2005-2011= 3 Rounds of Clomid, 5 IUI's, 3 IVF's- ALL BFN's
    After 7yrs TTC, 5yrs of ute cancer, and 11 failed IF treatments, we got a surprise BFP! So thankful!

    Have you compared your "Cadillac plans" to buying your own policy?

  • Does your DH have a group plan? Have you looked at his? Maybe his plan has IF coverage and you could go on it. You could also try talking to your HR department about why fertility coverage should be included in their plans.

    I wouldn't bother looking for an individual plan. I don't know of any that have fertility coverage. Even if they did, you would get denied for a pre-existing condition.
