Landon is such a good sleeper. He's been sleeping through the night (12 hours most nights) since 2 months. Since then, there have been 2 nights that he has woken up to eat, then been put back to bed. Last night was ridiculous. He went to bed around 9:15 (normally he's in bed around 8:30), but was up at 10:30, 11:30, and 3:00! He wouldn't eat from me at 3 am but DH warmed up a bottle and he ate that.
His diaper was just a little peed, no hair was cutting off circulation on hands, toes, or otherwise... I don't know what was wrong! He just hasn't been acting like himself at all the past 2 days.
What is it?
Re: Please explain this to me.
Those are my excuses, too! L had been up 5, 6, maybe 7 times a night from about 4.5 months until 3 nights ago. Then, magically, she started just getting up twice. I have no explanation! Hope he sleeps better tonight!
These were my thoughts, lol. I always blame it on one or the other.
Makenzie has been doing the same thing lately. I read an article and now I can't find the link that during the times of rapid cognitive development (such as when a baby is learning a new skill) infant sleep can be disrupted. The article basically said that babies minds get really busy thinking about their new skill and practicing it and they can't turn it off. Much like how an adult's mind operates when stressed.
I don't know about other Dec. babies but, Makenzie recently started sitting unsupported and using rolling to be mobile. So I am blaming her restless nights on this and teething.
The article did say that once they are settled into their new ability they will go back to sleep normally.
Okay...sorry that was so long and I found the link

I totally found this to be true. B learned to roll to be mobile and for like 2ish weeks she was a nightmare at night because she was rolling everywhere and practicing. Then, she was back to her normal crappy sleep once she had totally mastered it.

This made me LOL. I am hoping once Makenzie is done practicing she will go back to her normal crappy sleep as well.
ditto - maybe the 6 month growth spurt?
i was going to say this. teething or 6 month growth spurt.
I'm guessing growth spurt, or teething molars. He keeps shoving everything to the back of his mouth when he's awake.
It sucks though... we are going on a vacation with family this weekend and there will be 15 people there... plus a one month old. I hope he lets everyone sleep!
