We are looking into seeing an RE and want to get a few opinions; our insurance seems to cover quite a few so, advice is welcome.
I was told on another board that Dr.Campbell (Bruce?)is good any other opinions, what did you like about the Dr you would suggest?
Other covered providers:Castillo, Damario, Erickson, Kopher, Kuneck, Malo, Nagel, Das and Pavelka
FYI: we are dealing with a possible short LP and not much else (per HSG, blood work and SA)
Thanks in advance!
Re: Recomend your RE! please
When I was trying, my OB recommended both Dr Erickson and Dr Pavelka. I ended up going with Dr Pavelka as after I met with him, I liked what he has to say, as well as, that he committed to being at all my appts except when he was on vacation. . . and he was. Dr Erickson's nursing staff handle many of the routine appts. He also specializes in non-in vitro fertility (drugs/hormones/injectibles, etc), while I got the impression from Dr Erickson's office that while she would do a course of injectibles, she pushed in vitro fertilization.
I found Dr Pavelka to be somewhat blunt, but very compassionate (he promised to do everything in his power to get us pregnant, but didn't promise a pregnancy). I also really appreciated how accessible he was as I had LOTS of questions. Finally, I loved the ease and flexibility of making appts. The clinic offers early morning, as well as, weekend appts when necessary. It made it easier to work everything around my work schedule, especially when I was going in 2-3 times per week. Finally, I found him very knowledgeable and walked away trusting that he had my best interest in mind.
Good luck!
We used Dr. Erickson at the Center for Reproductive Medicine in Minneapolis. We had success on our 1st treatment/IVF cycle. Although Dr. Campbell was the Doctor who actually performed my procedure (the doctors rotate who does the IVF procedures each week).
Good Luck, I know what a hard process this is.
I went to Dr. Corfman at Midwest Center for Reproductive Health. We had a really great experience and absolutely loved the staff.
It took us 7 IUIs before we got a BFP and Dr. Corfman wanted us to move onto IVF but since we don't have IF insurance coverage, he respected our decision to keep trying IUIs.
Good luck!
I'm a little late to the party here, but I went to Dr. Campbell at CRM. I loved my experience there. Luckily we got pg on our first IUI, so we didn't spend a lot of time there and didn't see Campbell much. I had a co-worker who went there too and had Dr. Erickson. They went through 3 IUI's and got pg on their first IVF. I am very fortunate that my insurance covered a lot of it, and it was all in my Blue Cross network.
GL to you. I know how difficult of an experience this is and wish you all the best. If you haven't already checked out the Infertilty page, I would highly encourage that as well. The ladies over there can answer all kinds of questions you might have on all the procedures and the terminology, etc.
I've heard that Dr. Campbell is fantastic and really sweet, but I didn't meet him. A family friend studied under him in med school and she told me that he's considered one of the best by others in the field. I was unable to get an appt with him as his schedule was pretty booked up and I was out of patience
I met with Dr. Kunek at the CRM in Minneapolis and liked him. I will say that he is very matter of fact and to the point, but he was also very nice and pretty reassuring. We ended up only going in for a consult since I apparently got KU within 2-5 days afterwards. When I called the practice back to cancel the appts I had made for the huge list of tests that he wanted done and told them what happened, the nurse laughed and told me that happens all the time. We'd been trying for 8 months, so we were very pleasantly surprised! Good luck!!
