Series Books for a female, Grade 2 reader

I'm looking for suggestions for series books for a female, Grade 2 reader.

Are the "Judy Moody" books good and for that age?

Thanks!

Re: Series Books for a female, Grade 2 reader

  • My district goes by Guided Reading levels and I use Scholastic.com to check.  According to that site Judy Moody ranges from mid/late 2nd grade into 3rd grade.

    A to Z Mysteries-most of those are 2nd/3rd

Ramona Quimby series is good, but more 3rd grade

    Magic Tree House-2nd/3rd

    Geronimo Stilton-2nd/3rd

  • Magic Tree House

    Ramona

Fairies series (there's like 5 books in "The Pet Fairies" 5 in "The Rainbow Fairies" etc.)

Adventures of the Bailey School Kids Series

kids of the Polk Street School series

    Cam Jansen books

    Hope that helps!

These are at a much higher reading level though- they would be great to read with an adult, but would frustrate a reader at a second grade level. They're more around 4th-6th grade level, depending upon the book.
